The mechanism of hatred and exclusion formed by Korean Protestant fundamentalism reveals a significant dysfunction in Korean society. This study analyzes Korean Protestant fundamentalism from the perspective of the culture war to properly understand this phenomenon in Korean society. The culture war refers to a series of social phenomena that American Protestant fundamentalism has fought against the wave of liberalism in American society since the 1970s. This study uses the theory of the culture war to analyze Korean society's fundamentalism as it accepts and grows Protestantism. This study analyzes Korean fundamentalism into three periods: establishment, internalization, and maximization. And in this process, this study examines how the culture war phenomenon is being revealed. Finally, this study attempts to reflect on the dysfunction revealed by Korean Protestant fundamentalism, that is, the phenomenon of hatred and exclusion.

오늘날 한국개신교 근본주의가 형성한 혐오와 배제의 메커니즘은 한 국 사회에서 심각한 역기능을 드러내고 있다. 본 연구는 한국 사회에서 개 신교 근본주의를 적절하게 이해하기 위해서 문화전쟁의 관점에서 한국개 신교 근본주의를 분석한다. 문화전쟁이란, 미국개신교 근본주의가 1970년 대 이후 미국 사회의 자유주의 물결에 반대하면서 벌인 일련의 사회적 현 상을 말한다. 본 연구는 문화전쟁 현상을 한국 사회가 개신교를 받아들이 고 성장해가면서 형성시켜온 근본주의를 분석하는데 활용한다. 본 연구는 한국개신교 역사에서 드러난 한국개신교 근본주의의 발전과정을 형성·내 면화·극대화의 과정으로 설명한다. 그리고 이러한 과정 가운데 문화전쟁 현상이 어떻게 드러나고 있는지를 고찰한다. 끝으로 본 연구는 한국개신교 근본주의가 드러내고 있는 역기능, 즉 혐오와 배제 현상에 대한 성찰을 시도한다.
