The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating effects of menopausal syndrome and preparedness for retirement on the relationship between psychological crisis and occupational stress. First, occupational stress and psychological crisis have significantly positive correlations with menopausal syndrome. In contrast, they have significantly negative correlations with preparedness for retirement. Second, according to the result of verifying the differences in sociodemographic variables, occupational stress area showed significant difference in age, number of children and occupations. And menopausal syndrome area showed significant difference in age and life-time period. Preparedness for retirement area showed significant difference in age, number of children, education, occupation, and working period, and psychological crisis area showed significant difference in age, income, education, and occupation. Third, the result of this study verified the hypothesis that the menopausal syndrome and preparedness for retirement act as mediating factors in the relationship between the occupational stress and the psychological crisis. As for each path coefficient, occupational stress was significant for psychological crisis and menopausal syndrome, menopausal syndrome was significant for psychological crisis, and preparedness for retirement was significant for menopausal syndrome and psychological crisis.

본 연구는 중년남성들을 대상으로 이들의 심리적 위기감과 직업스트레스 두 변인 간의 관계에서 갱년기증후군과 노후준비도의 매개효과를 살펴보고자 하였다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 사회인구학적 변인에 따른 차이검증에서, 직업스트레스는 연령, 자녀수, 직종 간에 유의미한 차이가 있었으며, 갱년기증후군은 연령, 생애근무 기간에 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 노후준비 도는 연령, 자녀수, 학력, 직업, 근무기간에서 유의미한 차이가 있었고, 심리적 위기감은 연령, 수입, 학력, 직종에서 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 직업스트레스와 심리적 위기감, 갱년기증후군 간의 유의미한 정적 상관이 있었으며 노후준비도는 직업스트레 스, 갱년기증후군 간에 유의미한 부적 상관을 보였다. 셋째, 직업스트레스와 심리적 위기감의 관계에서 갱년기증후군과 노후준비도가 매개요인으로 작용하는 것으로 나타 났다. 따라서 갱년기증후군, 노후준비도는 직업스트레스와 심리적 위기감의 관계에서 매개요인으로 중요한 영향을 미치는 것을 알 수 있다. 특히 노후준비의 정도가 중년남성이 직업스트레스를 경험할 때 심리적 위기감에 미치는 부정적 영향을 감소 시켜주는 요인으로 작용한다.
