The scriptures of Daejonggyo say that the fundamental of all things are one, and one can realize it through true nature, or innate nature. Nature is purely good and conforms to open and widely applied reasons. Nature is given inborn primarily in the form of seeds. Mind and emotion are behind it. Mind relies on nature, and if it is fit to nature, it becomes good or otherwise evil. Emotion arises as nature stand face to face with mind. It depends on the type and strength of the standing face to face and helps to judge the nature and importance of work. Nature is expressed indirectly through the stimulation of the mind or directly in a state where emotions and mind function have stopped. Man must perform and consciously enlighten nature in order to be grown up spiritually. When one looks back nature, pleasure follows, and when one do not, one suffer. In social life, we must know that society is unified and practice four virtues, that is, sincerity with which one enlightens oneself, faithfulness that makes society unified, edifying love, and the relief of perverting that pacify society.

대종교 경전은 모든 사물의 근본은 하나이고 참 성품으로 하나임을 깨달을 수 있다고 한다. 그 성품은 순수하게 착하며 공개적이고 넓게 적용되는 이 치와 부합한다. 성품은 씨앗의 형태로 일차적으로 타고난 것이며 마음과 감정은 그 뒤에 있다. 마음은 성품에 의지하여 성품에 맞으면 착하고 그렇지 않으면 악하게 되며 성품 발현이 저지될 때 악이 생기므로 악은 부차적 이다. 감정은 성품과 마음이 맞서 생기고 그 맞섬의 종류와 세기에 따라 달라져서 일의 성질과 중요성의 판단에 도움을 준다. 성품은 마음의 자극 을 통해서 간접적으로 발현되거나 감정과 마음의 작용이 멈춰진 무념무상 의 상태에서 직접적으로 발현된다. 사람은 화행하여 의식적으로 성품 발현 을 해야 발전이 있다. 성품을 돌아보아 발전이 있을 때 참된 쾌락은 따라 오는 것이며 그렇지 않을 때는 고통이 따른다. 사회생활에서는 자신과 일 에 대해 들이는 정성, 인간사회를 조화(造化)하는 신의, 교화하는 사랑, 치 화하는 구제의 덕목들을 행하면서 사회가 하나됨을 알아야 한다.
