This study set out to reorganize the theoretical and practical discourse in the understanding of Bonhoeffer's "gemeinsam" concept as a theological response for the recovery of "community spirit" amid the COVID-19 pandemic and in the post-COVID era. We should restore our lost community spirit in the process of dealing with the COVID crisis with Jesus Christ. The Christians should restore their lost community spirit and build a "church" again by pursuing a community that "is with God via Jesus," "with other Christians via Jesus" and "with others via Jesus." What is a community spirit that should be restored amid COVID-19 specifically? What kind of community spirit should we restore according to the theoretical and practical discourse of Bonhoeffer's "gemeinsam"? The first one is to restore God's image that is "together with one another." The second one is a community spirit to "be together for each other." The third one is to restore a community spirit through a joint prayer service in which everyone is together. The final one is to be together with others. It is the spirituality of the Cross's "suffering" and "being abandoned" for the suffering of others. God is the God who took Jesus Christ's life on the cross, and at the same time, performs the work of salvation to save mankind. Yet, he is still 'within' our lives. He is still with us, allowing human death through COVID-19. We stand before God, who works this way. In this sense, COVID-19 is the strongest evidence that God lives. However, just as Jesus Christ resurrected after death, He creates new lives. God takes the lives of Christians today, with the life of Jesus Christ on the Cross. However, He resurrects every life aside by Jesus Christ. There is ongoing demand for various theoretical and practical discourses about the concept of "together.“
