This study analyzed the situation and meaning of life at the turning point of life experienced in the process of media activities of village community participants. To this end, based on Agamben’s devices and secularization strategies, we examined the relationship between women’s lives and the village community and focused on the practical meaning of women’s media experience as village community media activists. For the study, participants in Dongjak FM “Mother Is Broadcasting” and “Gangnam Village Bibimbap Parenting” were selected as research participants. In addition, participation observations, focus group interview(FGI) and individual e-mail interviews were conducted. The analysis method were applied to media biography studies to derive meaning for the relationship of women’s lives and media from a life-historical perspective. As a result of the analysis, women in Korean society experienced discrimination or prejudice due to the duality of devices in the process of using various media, and they revealed active subjectivity and provided self-reflection opportunities through village community media activities. Based on media capabilities, he was practicing various secularization strategies to solve social problems, such as recording his life, planning various programs, and conducting media literacy education. The study was meaningful in analyzing the interactions between individual lives, social structural contexts, and community media activities, recognizing the limitations of women’s community media activities and seeking socio-cultural implications and alternatives for women's continuous community media activities.

이 연구는 마을공동체 참여자들의 미디어 활동 과정에서 경험한 생애전환점의 상황 과 삶의 의미들을 분석하였다. 이를 위해 이론적 논의로 아감벤의 장치와 세속화 전략 사유를 적용하여 여성들의 삶과 마을공동체의 관계를 살펴보고 마을공동체 미디어 활 동가로서 체득한 실천적 의미를 조명하였다. 연구방법은 미디어 생애사인 미디어 비오 그라피 방법을 적용하였다. 동작 FM 〈엄마는 방송중〉과 〈강남마을 비빔밥 육아〉 참여 자들을 선정하여 참여 관찰과 초점집단인터뷰 및 개별 이메일 인터뷰를 병행하였고 여 성들의 삶과 마을공동체 미디어의 관계에 대한 의미를 탐색하였다. 분석 결과, 연구참여자들은 여성으로서 다양한 미디어를 이용하는 과정에서 장치의 이중성으로 차별이나 편견을 경험하였고 이와 동시에 마을공동체 미디어 활동을 통해 능동적인 주체성을 드러내고 자기 성찰적 기회를 마련하기도 하였다. 미디어 역량을 바 탕으로 자신의 삶을 기록하고 다양한 프로그램을 기획하였으며 미디어 리터러시 교육을 진행하는 등 사회적 문제를 해결하기 위한 다양한 세속화 전략을 실천하고 있었다. 이 연구는 미디어 비오그라피 연구를 통해 개인의 삶, 사회구조적 맥락, 마을공동체 미디어 활동 간의 상호작용을 분석하여 여성들의 마을공동체 미디어 활동의 한계를 인 식하고 여성들의 지속적인 마을공동체 미디어 활동을 위해 사회문화적 함의와 대안을 모색했다는 데 의의가 있다.
