The purpose of this study is to identify how culture and art genres corresponding to "detective story" in Korea are maintained and changed in North Korea. After the division of the two countries, they began to declare and establish different systems, led by numerous spy cases. North Korea has declared its sole system and tried to solidify its “North Korean style” and “our style” culture and arts. The study of the “Spying/Anti-spying writing” genre, which was completely reborn as a “North Korean-style” genre, became an example of how the combination of cultural and artistic aspects, as well as the political and social environment, brought about changes in North Korean culture and art. In the expansion, it was found that the North Korean “spying writing” has been developed with a clear recognition of the origins of reasoning studied worldwide. And through various changes after the division, it was used as a tool for political as well as social awareness, showing a different form according to it. But it was also known that the origin and usage method did not escape the big frame of “surprising”. This study is a study of “spying writing” in a small way, and a study of the genre of North Korean culture and art. And as a result of the research, it was confirmed that a genre different from the known one exists, and that it also has a short history. In addition, the genre has undergone numerous changes for the purpose of propaganda, and the attempt has been continued to this day. This can be said to be evidence that genre research is possible despite the specificity of North Korea with limited research data. Furthermore, by examining the process of genre convergence, it was confirmed that it functions as a research subject to confirm the social, political and cultural situation of North Korea. Based on this, it will be possible to confirm and compare various genres and methods of creation in North Korea. In addition, it was confirmed that new research models can be expanded, such as comparative studies with anti-communist films and anti-communist literature in Korea, and related studies are left as future tasks. However, due to limited information, it has a limitation that it was not possible to verify all the North Korean data. In addition, it was found that research on detailed genres other than “Spying writing” is also necessary. However, while conducting this research, it showed the possibility that it would be possible to further research on North Korean film dramatization and various techniques. In addition, confirmation and comparative research on creative methodologies in North and South Korea, and comparative research between Korean anti-communist films and North Korean spying/anti-spying films are left as future tasks.

본 논문은 한국의 “추리물”에 해당하는 문화예술 장르가 북한에서 어떤 형태로 유지, 변화하고 있는지를 확인해보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 두 나라는 분단 이후 각기 다른 체제를 선포하고 정립하기 시작했다. 북한은 유일 체 제를 선언하고 “북한식”, “우리식” 문화예술을 공고히 하기 위해 애써왔다. 온전히 “북한식” 장르로 거듭난 “정/반탐물” 장르 연구는 문화 예술적 측면은 물론 정치, 사회적 환경과의 결합이 북한의 문화예술에 어떠한 변화를 일으켰는지를 확인할 수 있는 예시가 되었다. 본 연구는 북한의 기관지 등 각종 자료를 통해 “정탐물”, “반탐물”이 기존의 유형 분 류인 “탐정물”로만 기능하지 않음을 살펴보았다. 나아가 “정탐물”이 북한 만의 특수성 을 내포한 장르이자 전 세계적으로 통용되는 “추리” 장르의 한 갈래임을 확인할 수 있 었다. 이는 장르 연구가 연구자료가 제한된 북한의 특수성에도 불구하고 통합적인 연구가 가능함을 보여주는 증거라고 할 수 있다. 나아가 장르 융합 과정을 살펴봄으로써 북한의 사회, 정치, 문화적 상황을 확인할 수 있는 연구대상으로 기능함을 확인할 수 있었다. 이를 토대로 북한의 다양한 장르 및 창작방법론을 확인 및 비교 연구할 수 있을 것이 다. 또한 한국의 반공 영화, 반공 문학과의 비교연구 등 새로운 연구모델의 확장이 가 능함을 확인하였고, 관련 연구를 추후 과제로 남긴다.
