This article is a study on the materials collected by the family of missionary Francis Kinsler(Kwon Se-yeol, 194.1.13.-1992.1.9.). Missionary Kinsler ar rived in Korea on October 4, 1928 at the age of 25 as a missionary sent from the North Presbyterian Church in the United States. His early stage of activity was in Pyongyang. After the Korean War, he worked in South Korea. Missionary Kinsler worked in Korea for over 40 years and created various types of records, both private and public, and collected and stored Korean-related materials and passed them on to futur e generations. The purpose of this study is to report the results of work donated by the Kinsler family. After organizing and categorizing about 700 documents donated by his family, they were classified into the Kinsler Collection, the Dorothy Collection, the Arthur & Sue Collection, and other collections related to Pyongyang and the Korean War. The next step is to identify the contents of the records contained in the materials, and to discover and evaluate the historical value of the materials. 본고는 킨슬러 선교사(Francis Kinsler, 권세열, 1904.1.13.-1992.1.9.) 가족의 수집 자료들에 대한 연구이다. 킨슬러 선교사는 미국 북장로회 소속 파송 선교사로 1928년 10월 4일 25세 청년 의 나이로 한국에 입국했다. 그의 초기 활동 무대는 평양지역이었다. 한국전쟁 이후에는 남한에서 활동했다. 킨슬러 선교사는 한국에서 40년 넘게 오랜 기간 활동하며 사적 공적인 여러 유형의 기 록물들을 생성했고, 한국 관련 자료들을 수집 보관하여 이를 후대에 전해주었다. 본 연구는 킨슬러 가족들로부터 기증받아 작업한 연구 결과물들을 보고하는데 목적이 있다. 그의 가족으로부터 기증받은 대략 700건 가량의 기록물들을 정리 분류 작업을 완료한 후 킨슬 러 컬렉션, 도로시 컬렉션, 아서 & 수 컬렉션, 그리고 평양과 한국전쟁 관련 컬렉션으로 분류했다. 그 다음엔 자료들에 담긴 기록 내용을 파악하고, 그 자료들의 사료적 가치를 발굴하고 평가하고 자 시도했다. 또한 향후에 이들 자료들의 보관 및 처리와 관련하여 킨슬러 부부의 선교자료 DB 구축, 더 나아가 아직 밝혀지지 않은 내한선교사들의 기록물들을 아우르는 한국기독교의 자료 DB 구축 및 아카이브 구축에 관해 그 방향성을 모색하고자 한다.
