The purpose of this paper is to reveal the perception of disasters revealed in Xunzi's view of nature. Xunzi identifies the causes of various natural disasters and social disasters that cause enormous damage to human life as human resources and tries to solve problems through human responsibility and active participation. Chapter 2 will reveal that through the analysis of Xunzi's view of nature, it was understood as a natural phenomenon without giving magical meaning to natural disasters. Chapter 3 will reveal that social and political unrest that makes humans suffer is a disaster created by humans themselves. Chapter 4 examines the disaster overcoming through active human participation suggested by Xunzi.

본 논문은 순자철학의 자연관 속에 보이는 재난 인식에 대해 밝히는 것을 목적으로 한다. 순자는 인간의 삶에 막대한 피해를 주는 각종 자연재해와 사회적 혼란이 재난이 되는 원인 을 인간에 의한 인재(人災)로 파악하고, 책임 의식과 적극적인 참여를 통해 극복하고자 한다. 2장에서는 순자철학의 자연관에 대한 분석을 통해 자연재해에 주술적 의미를 부여하지 않고 자연현상으로 이해했음을 밝힐 것이다. 3장에서는 인간을 고통스럽게 만드는 사회･정치적 인 혼란이 인간이 스스로 만들어내는 인재(人災)임을 밝힐 것이다. 4장에서는 순자가 제시하고 있는 인간의 능동적 참여[能參]를 통한 재난극복에 대해 살펴보고자 한다.
