The purpose of this study was to investigate the importance of childcare teachers for positive behavior support–a strategy for guiding young children's problem behavior–and to find out the educational needs for positive behavior support. For this purpose, a questionnaire was conducted on childcare teachers working at childcare and education centers in Gyeonggi-do. A total of 189 surveys was collected as data and was statistically analyzed using SPSS 24.0. The research results are as follows: First, the childcare teachers recognized the importance of applying the positive behavior support highly, and they recognized it to be higher than the performance. Elements of the positive behavior support that differed in the importance and the execution levels were found to be slightly different based on educational experience, academic background, and training experience of the childcare teachers. Second, the childcare teachers had the educational needs for all elements of positive behavior support and the highest demand for educational needs on the 'problem behavior guidance system' of the positive behavior support. Therefore, in order to prevent and guide children's problematic behaviors, various education and training programs should be devised to enhance the understanding of the positive behavior support and enhance the professionalism.

이 연구의 목적은 유아의 문제행동 지도전략인 긍정적 행동지원에 대한 보육교사의 중요성 인식 과 실행수준을 알아보고 긍정적 행동지원에 대한 교육요구를 밝히는 것이었다. 이를 위해 경기도 지역에 있는 어린이집에 재직 중인 보육교사를 대상으로 설문을 실시하였다. 수집된 자료 총 189부 를 SPSS 24.0을 사용하여 통계 분석하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 보육교사들은 긍정적 행 동지원 적용에 대한 중요성을 높게 인식하고 있었으며, 실행수준보다 중요성을 더 높게 인식하고 있었다. 보육교사의 교육경력, 학력, 연수경험에 따라 중요성과 실행수준 차이가 있는 긍정적 행동지 원의 요소가 조금씩 다르게 나타났다. 둘째, 보육교사들은 긍정적 행동지원 전체 요소에 대한 교육 요구가 있었으며, 긍정적 행동지원의 ‘문제행동 지도체계’에 대한 교육요구가 가장 높았다. 따라서 유아의 문제행동을 예방하고 지도할 수 있도록 긍정적 행동지원에 대한 이해를 높이고 전문성을 높 일 수 있는 다양한 교육이나 연수프로그램이 강구되어야 하겠다.
