With the development of advanced technologies such as IoT, AI, 5G and XR, the use of digital twins that replicate the digital world identical to the real physical world is being promoted and full-scale market growth is expected. In particular, digital twin is emerging as a nationwide digital innovation technology with its application expanding to various social services for people’s safety and convenience, such as national infrastructure and SoC optimization, medical care and smart city. This paper examines the digital twin standardization trend being developed by domestic and foreign standardization organizations, and analyzes standardization strategies and the classification of standards of smart city digital twin in major countries. Through this, we discuss the basic principles of digital twin standardization and national digital twin standardization strategy to create a new smart city market and a new industrial ecosystem.

IoT·AI·5G·XR 등 첨단기술이 발전하면서 실제 물리적 세계와 동일한 디지털 세계를 복제하는 디지털 트윈의 활용 이 촉진되고 있어 본격적인 시장 성장이 예상되고 있다. 특히, 디지털 트윈은 국가 기반시설과 SoC 최적화 및 의료, 스마트시티 등 안전하고 편리한 국민 생활을 위한 다양한 응용서비스로 확대되면서 국가 디지털 혁신기술로 부상하 고 있다. 본 논문에서는 국내외 표준화 기구에서 개발 중인 디지털 트윈 표준화 동향을 살펴보고, 주요국의 스마트 시티 디지털 트윈 표준화 전략 및 표준 분류를 분석하였다. 이를 바탕으로 스마트시티 신시장 창출과 산업 생태계 조성을 위한 디지털 트윈 표준화 기본원칙과 국가 차원의 디지털 트윈 표준화 전략을 제안한다.
