Fulvic acid is the fraction which dissolves at any pH among humic substances produced animals and plants accumulated and were carbonized and decomposed a long time ago. Fulvic acid has been applied in various industrial fields, such as food, plant growth, waste water purification and domestic compositions, and many patents have been applied for, but the details regarding such patents were not known unlikely academic papers. For this study efforts were made to search information on the patent field using 'fulvic acid' as a key word in the database of Korea Intellectual Property Rights Information Service (KIPRIS) about patents regarding fulvic acid that have been registered in the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) until June 2021, in order to assist researchers in the field of fulvic acid and to classify and analyze such patents in the manner of International Patent Classification (IPC). Many patents were searched for and found in respect to various fields and they were A01G (9 cases), A01N (9 cases), A61K (16 cases), B01D (11 cases), C02F (18 cases), C05F (10 cases) and C12N (7 cases), and 125 registered patents were searched for and found among a total of 28 subclasses. Nine patents were registered by foreign researchers.

펄빅산은 오래전에 동물 식물이 퇴적하여 탄화되고 분해된 휴믹물질 중에서 모든 pH에서 용해되는 분획 물이다. 펄빅산은 식품 식물성장 폐수정화 화장품 조성물 등 여러 산업분야에 응용되고 있으며 특허출원이 많이 진행되고 있으나 그 내용은 학술 논문과 달리 잘 알려져 있지 않다. 펄빅산 관련분야 연구자들에게 특허분야의 정 보를 제공하기 위하여 2021년 6월까지 펄빅산과 관련하여 대한민국 특허청에 등록된 특허를 대상으로 한국특허정 보원(KIPRIS: Korea Intellectual Property Rights Information Service) 데이터베이스에서 키워드 ‘펄빅산’ 으로 검색하고 국제특허분류 (IPC: International Patent Classification) 방식으로 분류 분석하였다. 특허가 많이 검색된 분야는 A01G 9편, A01N 9편, A61K 16편, B01D 11편, C02F 18편, C05F 10편, C12N 7편 등 이었으며, 총 28개 서브클래스에서 125편의 등록특허가 검색되었다. 외국인에 의해 등록된 특허는 9편 이었다.
