This study compared private services for the recovery and healing of drug addicts in Korea and Japan. Comparing private services between Korea and Japan aims to get implications for the problem of addiction in Korea by knowing the services of Japanese private institutions on drug addiction. In order to derive this purpose, data related to addiction in both countries were analyzed and compared. As a result of the study, Japan had a better number of private support institutions and quality of service than Korea. It was found that private institutions in Japan obtained state aid and responded appropriately. Based on these results, first, establishment of a system that only supports drug addiction. Second, the establishment of a living facility for recovery of addiction by the private sector within the local community. Third, the application of medical expenses and the supply and demand of basic living security. Fourth, it was proposed to provide job opportunities through vocational education.

본 연구는 한국과 일본의 약물중독자의 회복과 치유를 위한 민간서비스를 비교하는 연구이다. 한국과 일본의 민간서비스를 비교하는 목적은 약물중독에 대한 일본의 민간기관의 지원서비 스를 알아 한국의 중독 문제 대처에 대한 시사점을 얻고자 하는 것이다. 이러한 목적을 도출하기 위해 양국의 중독관련 자료를 분석하여 비교하였다. 연구결과 한국에 비하여 일본은 민간지원 기관의 수와 서비스의 질적인 면에서 국가의 원조를 얻으며 적 절하게 대처한다는 것을 알았다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 첫째, 약물중독만을 지원하는 시스템 구축. 둘째, 지역사회 안에서 민 간에 의한 중독 회복 생활시설의 설립. 셋째, 의료비 적용과 기 초생활보장 수급. 넷째, 직업교육을 통한 직업 기회 제공을 제안 했다.
