Sijo is Korea's representative lyric poem that expresses the spirit and emotions of the nation in harmony with the four-note rhythm. Just as Sijo's "poetry" is a "time" character, Sijo is an expression that refers to the trend of the time, and is a complex art that shows our own literature, music, and real life of the people. This paper examines the relationship between Chinese characters and Sijo by considering the verses of poetry accepted in the Sijo. In order to consider the sijo, it is necessary to look at the three major poetry books of Joseon: Cheongguyeongeon, Haedongayo, and Gagokwonryu, selecting the sijo because that has been sung so far, we looked at the 18 sijo that cited Chinese poems from 80 sijo included in the Jeong Kyung-tae Journal of the Korean Sijo Association.

시조는 민족의 얼과 정서를 4음보의 율격에 조화롭게 표현한 우리나라의 대표적 서정시가이 다. 시조의 ‘詩’ 자(字)가 때 ‘時’ 자(字)인것처럼 시조는 당대 유행가조를 칭하는 표현으로 우리의 고유 문학이면서 음악이며 민족의 실생활이 엿볼 수 있는 복합예술이다. 본고는 시 조에 수용된 한시(漢詩)구절을 고찰하여 한문(漢文)과 시조의 관계를 알아본 것이다. 시조를 고찰하기 위해서는 청구영언(靑丘永言), 해동가요(海東歌謠), 가곡원류(歌曲源流) 등 조선 3대 시가집을 살펴보아야 하겠지만, 현재까지 가창되고 있는 시조를 선정하려는 이유 로 (사)대한시조협회의 교재로 채택된 정경태 편저 선율선시조보에 수록된 80수의 시조에서 한시를 인용한 18수의 시조를 살펴보았다.
