This study examines general characteristics of 25 picturebooks involving human rights of child selected by the National Human Rights Commission of the Republic of Korea, and analyzes their relevance to themes of daily life introduced in the Nuri Curriculum Teacher’s Guide Books, and their contents by different categories of human rights of child. The analysis results are as follows. First, picturebooks on a reality were most common among picturebooks involving human rights of child, and fantasy picturebooks had a weak fantastic nature. Second, most picturebooks were published after 2006, and imported books far outnumbered domestic books. Third, among 11 themes of daily life introduced in the Nuri Curriculum Teacher’s Guide Books, the selected picturebooks mostly covered kindergarten/daycare center and friends, me and my family, animals/plants/nature, environment and daily life. Fourth, among the six human rights, the selected picturebooks mostly addressed right of equality, and particularly, focused on physical handicap and multiculturalism. Further considerations need to be made in selecting picturebooks involving human rights for their relevance to the Nuri curriculum, a variety of genres and human rights that are covered.

본 연구는 국가인권위원회 어린이 인권 도서에 수록된 유아 인권그림책 25권을 선정하여 그림책의 일반적 특성과 누리과정 지도서에 나와 있는 생활주제와의 연계성, 유아 인권 범주에 따른 내용분석을 목적으로 하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 유아 인권그림책은 사실 그림책이 가장 많았고, 환상 그림책도 환상 정도가 대부분 낮았다. 둘째, 2006년 이후 최근에 출판된 책들이 대부분이며, 국내 도서보다 수입 도서 의 비중이 훨씬 높았다. 셋째, 누리과정 지도서의 생활주제 11개 중에 유치원/어린이집과 친구, 나와 가족, 동식물과 자연, 환경과 생활에 치중되어 있다. 넷째, 유아 인권 범주로 구분한 6가지의 권리 중에 평등의 권리에 가장 치중되어 있었고, 그중에서도 장애와 다문화 관련 내용의 비중이 매우 높다. 정치 의 권리와 자유의 권리는 어느 정도 반영되어 있으나 사회적 권리와 경제적 권리는 거의 반영되지 않 았다. 국가인권위원회는 유아 인권그림책을 선정할 때 인권교육의 확대와 효율성 그리고 통합적 접근 을 위해 국가 수준의 교육과정이라고 할 수 있는 누리과정과의 연계성, 그림책의 다양한 장르, 유아에 게 필요한 다양한 권리를 적절하게 반영할 필요가 있다.
