초록

영어

Vulvar area is susceptible to bacterial and fungal infection especially due to low pH environment. Thus, disruption of pH on skin (pH 5.5) and vagina (pH 3.5-4.5) can affect normal vaginal flora such as lactobasilli and lead to genitourinary infection by the growth of harmful bacteria. Currently the feminine cleanser is required to have further functions such as protection and improvement of a specific woman's diseases beside cleaning. The feminine cleanser (CellZyme Secret Therapy Plus, Pharmacal International Co. Ltd., Seoul, Korea) used in this study contains the functional substances such as human stem cell-conditioned media and various kinds of plants extract. we conducted this experiment to investigate the effects of the feminine cleanser on pathogenic bacteria and fungus. Three bacterial strains (Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus), and one fungus (Candida albicans) were cultured in the blood agar, treated with a feminine cleanser, and incubated for 24 h at 37℃. Results demonstrated that a time-dependent treatment with a feminine cleanser markedly suppressed bacterial and fungal growth. In conclusion, the feminine cleanser containing stem cell-conditioned media and plants extract (CellZyme Secret Therapy Plus) showed anti-bacterial and anti-fungal effect, which is expected to help protection of genitourinay infection.
