This study reveals that various difficulties with which Chinese marriage-immigrant women have encountered in their lives in Gangwon province, South Korea. We implement two independent study: one is quantitative study using questionaire and another is qualitative study based on narrative methods. Our findings show that first, most of Chinese marriage-immigrant women have experienced discrimination and loneliness in Korea. Second, Chinese marriage-immigrant women usually consult with Chinese friends in various areas such as education, loneliness, and conflict resolution. Third, they urgently need a financial support in the area of their children's education. In the second study, we find that a recent new comer out of Chinese marriage-immigrant women show different pattern of marriage. For example, she married her Korean husband for themselves, not through marriage intermediary. In case of sharing religion with her husband's family, religion may play the role of social support to her. Finally, two out of three interviewees plan to teach Chinese language as well as Korean language. It signifies that they enter the stage of integration in Barry(1990)'s framework.

본 연구는 강원 지역에 거주하는 중국계 결혼이주여성의 적응을 연구하였다. 본 연구는 두 번의 세부 연구로 나누어 진행하였다. 첫 번째 연구는 설문지를 통하여 15명의 중국계 결혼 이주여성을 대상으로 분석하였으며 두 번째 연구는 3명의 중국계 결혼이주여성을 간담회와 이메일을 활용하여 심층면접을 진행하였다. 연구 결과 상당수 결혼이주 중국인여성들은 외로 움을 호소하고 있었으며, 외로울 때 주로 모국인 친구와 의사소통을 하고 있는 것으로 나타 나고 있다. 둘째, 한국사회에서 경험한 애로사항으로는 언어문제로 나타나고 있으며, 셋째, 외부기관으로부터 지원을 받고 싶은 분야는 압도적으로 자녀 교육 및 양육에 관한 분야로 나타나서 다문화 자녀 교육에 대한 경제적 지원이 필요한 것으로 나타나고 있다. 한편 간담 회 면담 결과, 결혼이주여성들은 중국과 한국간의 정치, 제도, 문화적 차이로 어려움을 경험 하고 있었다. 한편 결혼이주여성과 시댁의 종교가 공통적인 경우, 결혼이주여성이 동일한 종교기관에 다님으로써 사회적 지지를 받고, 문화적 차이를 극복하고 있는 것으로 나타나고 있다.
