This study aims to open up a new post Corona era by re-recognizing the importance of practicing Diakonia (serving and service) and practicing it to respond to the needs of the local community in this era when the Korean church has lost public credibility due to COVID-19 and social anti-Christian sentiment prevails. Today, Korean society clearly shows de-religiousization. In a 2021 Gallup Korea survey on the Religion of Koreans, 62% of the respondents said religion was not helpful to society. This is a crisis in the Korean church and also a warning to the Korean church. So, what is the way to restore this tarnished negative image of Christianity? What caused the church to lose its social image? What can Christians do to restore their fallen image? Researchers want to find answers to these problems through this study. This world we live in is becoming increasingly globalized, multicultural, and diversified. In particular, when the world is suffering from coronavirus as it is today, the role and mission of the church in the community are all the more pressing. As a holy community that reveals God to the world, it should move out into the world and serve hopeless people with God's love. The church should be able to serve the local community with love through the practice of Diakonia and to show the God of love in the field of their lives. A Christian is the one who serves the world at its lowest place as a servant of all people. Jesus made the invisible God visible in words and actions and sent his disciples to show God to a world where God could not be seen. In this way, Diakonia is the essence of the life of Jesus Christ and the essential mission of the church toward the world. Overcoming the crisis of the Korean church today is to restore the essential function of the church through the practice of Diakonia. Now that the Korean church is reborn, it should be established as a community of love sharing that restores the essence of the church and serves the world. Thus, through this report, the researcher intends to find a way for the Korean church to open up the post-corona era by responding to the needs of the local community in the era of the crisis of Covid-19. This thesis focused on the Methodist Church.

본 연구는 코로나 19로 인하여 한국 교회가 공신력을 잃고 사회적으로 반기독교적 인 정서가 팽배한 이 시대에 디아코니아 실천의 중요성을 재인식하고 지역사회의 필 요에 응답하는 디아코니아 실천을 통해 포스트 코로나 시대를 새롭게 열어 가고자함 에 그 목적이 있다. 오늘날 한국 사회는 탈종교화가 뚜렷하게 나타나고 있다. 2021년 한국갤럽의 ‘한국인의 종교’에 대한 조사에서 종교가 사회에 도움이 되지 않는다고 답 한 사람들이 응답자의 62%에 이르렀다. 이것은 한국교회의 위기요, 한국교회에 대한 경고라 할 수 있다. 그렇다면 교회의 대사회적 이미지를 실추시킨 원인은 무엇인가? 이와 같이 실추된 기독교의 부정적인 이미지를 회복할 수 있는 길은 무엇인가? 기독 교인은 추락한 이미지의 회복을 위하여 무엇을 할 수 있는가? 연구자는 본 연구를 통 해 이러한 문제들에 대한 해답을 찾아보고자 한다. 오늘날과 같이 코로나 19로 인하여 온 세상이 고통가운데 있을 때, 지역사회 안에 서 교회의 역할과 사명은 더욱 절실하다. 교회는 하나님을 세상에 보여주는 거룩한 공동체로서 세상을 향해 나아가 희망 없는 사람들을 하나님의 사랑으로 섬겨야 한다. 교회는 디아코니아 실천을 통해 지역사회를 사랑으로 섬기며 사랑의 하나님을 그들의 삶의 현장에서 보여 줄 수 있어야 하는 것이다. 기독교인은 모든 사람의 종으로서 가 장 낮은 곳에서 세상 사람을 섬기는 자이다. 예수는 보이지 않는 하나님을 말과 행동 으로 볼 수 있도록 나타내시고 볼 수 없는 하나님을 세상에 보여 주라고 그의 제자들 을 파송하셨다. 오늘날 한국교회의 위기 극복은 디아코니아 실천으로 인한 교회의 본질적 기능을 회복하는 것이다. 이제 한국교회가 새롭게 거듭남으로써 교회의 본질을 회복하고 세 상을 섬기는 사랑 나눔의 공동체로 세워져야 한다. 그러므로 연구자는 본 소고를 통 하여 코로나 19의 위기 시대에 한국교회가 지역사회의 필요에 응답함으로 이를 극복 하고 포스트 코로나 시대를 열어갈 수 있는 길을 모색하고자 한다. 본 논문은 한국감 리교회를 중심으로 연구하였다.
