The purpose of this study is to suggest the direction of future Christian educational ministry by examining the difficulties of the pastoral field and the reality of the members of the Korean Protestant church facing the global crisis of Covid-19. For nearly last two years, going back and forth between online and offline worship, the church had to place the virtual space as an extension of the worship service, re-examine the whole life of the faith community, and be sensitive to the needs and concerns of the church members. This is partly because it was difficult to imagine Sundays not being able to gather in the church and because we have been concentrating on gathering at the church for a long time. This process becomes a chance to show the need for a clear examination of the essence of the church as a community of faith. Moreover, in a situation where the COVID-19 condition is not predicted to improve in a short period of time, the church is facing a desperate moment when it has to set a new standard while preparing for the times to come and thinking fiercely about what kind of community it should be established as. Therefore, based on the experience the church has experienced since the beginning of last year, this study proposes the concrete ways of educational ministry as the new normal according to the five functions of the educational ministry of Maria Harris: worship(kerygma), liturgy(leiturgia), education(didache), fellowship(koinonia), and service(diakonia).

본 연구는 코로나19라는 글로벌 위기를 겪으며 한국 개신교 교회가 맞닥뜨렸던 목 회현장의 어려움과 성도들의 현실을 고찰함으로써, 코로나19 이후의 다가올 미래를 어떻게 준비하며 나가야 할 것인지 그 교육목회적 방향성을 제시하고자 한다. 2년에 가까운 시간 동안 온오프라인 예배를 넘나들며, 교회는 신앙공동체의 삶 전반을 다시 성찰해야만 했으며, 성도들의 필요와 염려가 무엇인지 민감해야만 했다. 온라인 예배 송출과 소그룹 모임을 위한 방안 마련, 교회학교 예배의 온라인 송출 및 온라인 콘텐 츠 개발의 필요성, 멈춰진 전도와 제한적 봉사활동. 가정 안에 머물러야만 하는 성도 들의 개인 영성 및 신앙생활 점검의 필요성. 교회의 모든 활동을 다시 점검하고 깊은 성찰을 해야 하는 상황 속에서 목회자들과 평신도 모두 많은 고민과 성찰 속에 새로 운 길을 모색해 나가고 있다. 이러한 일련의 과정들은 신앙공동체로서 교회의 본질이 무엇인지 명확한 점검이 필요함을 절실히 보여주는 시간이었다고 할 수 있다. 더구나 코로나19 사태가 단기간 에 나아지지 않을 것이라고 예측되는 상황에서 또한 앞으로 언제든 이와 같은 위기의 상황이 발생할 수 있다는 위기의식 하에서, 교회는 다가올 시간들을 어떻게 준비하며 어떤 공동체로 세워져야 할 것인지 치열한 고민을 하며 새로운 기준을 세워야만 하는 중요한 순간을 맞이하고 있다. 따라서 본고는 글로벌 위기의 시대를 살아가는 상황 속에서 교육 목회적 관점으로 개체교회가 나아가야 할 방향성을, 지난해 초부터 겪어왔던 우리의 경험과 현실 상황 을 바탕으로 마리아 해리스가 강조한 교회의 다섯 가지 직능: 케리그마(말씀선포와 전도), 레이트루기아(예배와 예전), 디다케(교육과 훈련), 코이노니아(교제와 친교), 디 아코니아(섬김과 봉사)에 따라 뉴 노멀(New Normal)로서의 교육목회의 구체적인 미래 방안을 제시하고자 한다.
