This thesis is a PBR (Practice Based Research) study on the creation process of the dance work choreographed by this researcher. The dance work ｢Me, Natasha and the White Donkey｣ is based on Baek Seok's poem of the same name. The purpose of this study is to examine how poetry is created as a new text and the meaning derived from the process by closely examining how poetry language is transformed into dance language in the creative process. The research method of this paper is a combination of literature research and practice-based research (PBR). In PBR, the experience data through the actual performance is important as the primary data. Through this study, first, it was found that the exploration of sensuous movement focusing on the linguistic characteristics of Baekseok is a process that can understand poetry more deeply and embody it in a dancing body. Second, it was found that the creative process embodied by the dancers through movement exploration can derive a dance language that reinterprets the original poem more creatively. Third, in this study, it was found that the experiences of creation that are experienced and derived in the process of creation, not creation for dance work, create new meaning within the frame of a set format. As a choreographer, I experienced that this researcher could reach the intended work. This study is meaningful in that it analyzes and reveals how many creative experiences the dance creation process based on poetry text itself implies. I hope that this paper using practical research (PBR) will be an example of expanding the possibility of creative fieldwork research in the field of performing arts, which is a practical artist.

본 논문은 본 연구자가 안무한 무용작품의 창작과정을 연구한 실기기반 연구(PBR, Practice Based Research)이다. 무용작품 ｢나와 나타샤와 흰 당나귀｣는 백석의 동명시를 기반으로 한 작품이다. 본 논문 에서는 창작과정에서 어떻게 시언어가 무용언어로 변환되는지 그 과정을 면밀히 탐구함으로써 시가 어 떠한 새로운 텍스트로 창조되는가와 그 과정에서 도출되는 의미를 살피는 것에 연구의 목적이 있다. 본 논문의 연구방법은 문헌연구와 실기기반연구방법(Practice Based Research, PBR)을 병행한 것이다. 연구 의 절차는 문헌연구를 통해 시인 백석과 그의 시가 지닌 언어·문체적 특성을 연구하였다. 이후 실기기 반연구방법(PBR)을 활용하여 원작 시 ｢나와 나타샤와 힌 당나귀｣의 텍스트를 무용언어로 전환하는 창작 과정을 분석하였다. PBR은 실기(practice) 현장에서 생성된 현상이나 체험에 대한 분석방법이다. 또한 창 조된 결과물로부터 새로운 지식과 그 의미를 도출하는 실기와 이론을 통섭한 학술연구 방식이다. 본 연 구를 통해 첫째, 원작 시를 몸으로 이해하는 과정을 통해 백석 시가 가진 언어적 특성이 춤추는 몸에 새 겨진 체험 감각을 깨우며 독창적인 무용언어로 해석될 수 있음을 발견할 수 있었다. 둘째, 창작과정에서 무용수의 주체적 참여가 작품의 의도를 춤으로 드러내는데 있어 매우 중요한 지점임을 발견하게 되었다. 셋째, 본 연구자는 창작의 과정에서 안무가로서 작품을 창조하는 방식과 무용수들과의 소통방식에 대해 더 깊이 성찰을 할 수 있었다. 본 연구는 시 텍스트를 기반 한 무용창작의 과정이 그 자체로 얼마나 많은 창조적 체험을 내포하고 있는지를 분석하고 드러냈다는 점에서 그 의미가 있다. 실기기반연구(PBR)을 활 용한 본 논문이 실천예술인 공연예술분야가 지닌 창조적 현장성 연구의 가능성을 확장하는데 하나의 사 례가 되기를 바란다.
