The purpose of this study was to investigate improvements by exploring the current status of the curriculum and comparative programs for high schools specializing in a physical education curriculum. Research data were collected and analyzed through documents from physical education curriculum specialization schools and expert interviews. The research results are as follows. First, high school physical education elective courses should be developed for general students who want to enter the physical education field. Second, the curriculum organization and operation standards should be supplemented according to the among the types of high schools specializing in a physical education curriculum. Third, the career education program related to physical education should be strengthened around experience, and the connection with jobs as well as the region should be increased. Fourth, the budget should be supported to ensure that equipment and container equipment necessary for measuring exercise functions and practicing practical skills are sufficiently provided. In addition, policy efforts should be made to ensure that high schools specializing in a physical education curriculum are operated by all municipal and provincial offices of education, and based on this, policy improvement and support should be identified.

본 연구는 체육교육과정 특성화학교의 교육과정 및 비교과 프로그램 운영 현황을 파악하여 개 선 및 지원 사항을 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 체육교육과정 특성화학교 운영 문서, 운영 전문 가 면담 조사를 통해 자료를 수집하고 분석하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 체육계열로 진 학하려는 일반 학생들을 위한 고등학교 체육 선택과목이 개발되어야 한다. 둘째, 체육특성화학교 운영 유형 중 <과목편성형>에 대한 교육과정 편성‧운영 기준이 보완되어야 한다. 셋째, 체육진로 교육 프로그램이 체험 중심으로 강화되고, 지역 및 관련 직업 분야와의 연계를 높이도록 지원해야 한다. 넷째, 운동기능 측정 및 실기 연습을 위한 장비 및 용기구가 충분히 구비되도록 예산 지원이 이루어져야 한다. 아울러 체육교육과정 특성화학교가 모든 시도교육청에서 운영되도록 하는 정책 적 노력과 체육특성화학교 운영 현황 파악이 매년 이루어져 이를 근거로 체육계열 진로진학 교육 의 내실화에 필요한 정책 개선 및 지원 사항을 파악해야 한다.
