This paper examines the characteristics of Roland Barthes’s ‘Tangibilia’ and ‘Co-présence’ found in the Haiku expression. He applied Pathos as Nietzsche’s affect to Haiku, and saw Haiku as “an active power to interpret” the world from “the fundamental activities of human existence” and “self-perspective.” In his opinion, ‘Tangibilia’ and ‘Co-présence’ play a major role in Haiku. ‘Tangibilia’ as a perceptual phenomenon enables momentary enlightenment and projection by ‘Sabi (loneliness)’ and live-action method (a vivid and distinct description of an object beneath one's eyes). ‘Co-présence’ is a connection between two objects or actions regardless of causality and is comprised through synesthesia, sense perception or total sense. It is only Barthes's theory that apprehends the characteristics of Haiku that captures moments, the concise form of Haiku, and the enlightenment of the nature as the basis of Haiku, and that introduces the concept of affect to understand Haiku's characteristics. His Haiku analysis, based on a universal human perception, allows Haiku to exist as a common human literature and open a new ground in Haiku research.

본고에서는 바르트의 탕지빌리아와 공현전(共現前)이 하이쿠 표현에 어떤 특징으로 작용하 는지 살펴보았다. 그는 니체의 정동의 차원인 파토스를 하이쿠에 적용하여, 하이쿠를 ‘인간 존재의 근원적인 능동성’과 ‘자기 투시화법의 관점’으로 세계를 ‘해석하는 능동적인 힘’이라 고 보았다. 이 능동적인 힘이 정동이고, 이 정동으로서 하이쿠는 인간의 무한한 지각 현상을 보여주는 ‘지각의 글쓰기’로 정의되었다. 이와 같이 그가 생각한 하이쿠에는 탕지빌리아와 공현전이 주된 요소로 작용한다. 지각 현 상으로서의 탕지빌리아는 사비정신과 활사법에 의해 순간의 깨달음에 대한 형상화를 가능하 게 한다. 그리고 공현전은 두 대상 또는 행위가 인과 관계와 상관없이 연결되는 것으로, 상응 에 의한 공감각이나 감각에 의한 지각, 또는 총체적 감각 등을 통하여 이루어진다. 순간 포착과 하이쿠의 간결한 형식, 자연의 본질에 대한 깨달음이 하이쿠의 기본이라고 생 각하고, 정동이라는 개념을 도입하여 하이쿠 특성을 파악한 것은 바르트만의 이론이라고 할 수 있다. 그리고 보편적인 인간의 지각(정동)을 토대로 한 그의 하이쿠 분석은 하이쿠를 인류 의 공유 문학으로서 존재하게 하며, 하이쿠 연구의 새로운 지평을 열어 놓았다고 할 수 있다.
