The purpose of this study is to explore and consider the anger experiences of elementary school teachers in physical education classes. Accordingly, anger events experienced by 4 elementary school teachers during physical education classes and strategies for anger situations were explored. Data were collected through oral interviews, e-mail interviews, and open-ended questionnaires. These data were analyzed by the method of the grounded theory of Charmaz(2006). The data were coded with 185 concepts, grouped into 41 sub-categories, 9 median-categories, and 3 main-categories. The research results are as follows. First, the research participants had the expectation that the educational purpose should be achieved through physical education classes. Second, the research participants were angry when the class did not meet their educational expectations, and expressing anger not only helped to solve the problem, but also made the situation worse. Third, the research participants were equipped with strategies to control and use their anger educationally from their physical education experience. These results suggest that the method of dealing with anger can be a topic of teacher education.

본 연구는 체육수업을 하는 초등교사들이 경험하는 분노를 탐색하고 고찰하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 4명 의 초등교사가 체육 수업 중에 경험한 분노 사건과 분노 상황에서의 전략을 탐색하였다. 구두 면담과 이메일 면담, 개방형 설문지를 통해 자료를 수집하였으며, 자료는 Charmaz(2006)의 근거이론의 방법으로 분석하였다. 자료는 185개의 개념으로 부호화되었으며, 41개의 하위 범주, 9개의 중위 범주, 3개의 상위 범주로 묶였다. 연구참여자들 은 체육수업을 통해 교육적 목적을 달성해야 한다는 기대를 갖고 있었다. 그러나 기대에 어긋나는 사건이 발생함에 따라 연구참여자들은 분노를 경험했다. 연구참여자들의 분노 표현은 문제 해결에 도움을 주기도 했지만, 상황을 악 화시키기도 했다. 분노 경험은 연구참여자들에게 분노를 교육적으로 사용하기 위한 조절 및 활용 전략을 갖추게 했 다. 이러한 결과는 분노를 다루는 방법이 교사교육의 한 주제가 될 수 있음을 시사한다.
