Kim Yunsik saw the essential value of poetry as natural reveal of nature and the realistic value as the support of teaching. So in order for the sake of poetry, the place in Sinun(神韻) must be obtained or Sinun(神韻). However, in Kim Yunsik's a theory of poetry, it is Takryeon(琢鍊) that connects an essential value and a realistic value. The way to get Sinun(神韻) that Kim Yunsik pursued is to be Takryeon(琢鍊). However, Kim Yunsik said that Sinun(神韻) can not be learned by learning, so it is not necessarily possible to get Sinun(神韻) through Takryeon(琢鍊) in this method. 김윤식은 시의 본질적 가치를 性情의 자연스러운 發露로, 현실적 가치를 世敎의 補益으로 보았는데, 이를 위해 시는 神韻의 소재를 얻거나 神韻을 얻어야 한다고 했다. 그런데 김윤식의 詩論에서 性情과 世敎를 이어주는 것이 琢鍊이라는 점에서 김윤식이 추구했던 神韻의 방법은 琢鍊이 될 수밖에 없지만, 그가 神韻을 배워서 얻을 수 있는 것이 아니라고 했다는 점에서 琢鍊으로 반드시 神韻을 얻을 수 있는 것은 아니다. 그렇지만 시인으로 좋은 시를 쓰기 위해서는 神韻을 얻기 위한 琢鍊을 계속할 수밖에 없다. 김윤식의 시론은 전통적인 시론의 바탕 위에서 시인의 주체적 각성과 창작을 위한 노력을 인정했다는 점에서 의미를 지닌다. 그러나 기본적으로 전통적인 시론의 틀을 벗어나지 못했고, 창작을 위한 시인의 노력에 온전한 가치를 부여하지 못했으며, 그 노력의 결과를 우연이라는 예기할 수 없는 상황에 맡겼다는 점에서 한계를 보이기도 한다. 지도 유배기 김윤식의 시 세 수를 살펴보면 이 시들은 모두 그의 시론에 부합하는 시이다. 물론 이 시들에 사용된 표현과 문학적 기교를 神韻이라고 볼 수 있는가에 대해서는 확정하기 어렵다. 또 이런 분석의 결과를 그의 시세계 전반으로 확장하는 것도 쉽지 않다. 하지만 최소한 이 세 수의 시만큼은 그의 시론에 부합하는 것으로, 그의 神韻에 근접한 시라고 할 수 있을 듯하다. 다만 이 경우의 神韻은 그가 추구하는 시의 본질적 가치와 현실적 가치를 충실히 구현했다는 점에서 확인되는 귀납적인 것이다. 이 세 수의 시에서 그가 神韻의 추구를 위해 사용한 특별한 문학적 기교나 수법을 밝히기 어렵다. 그런데 여기서 살펴본 세 수의 시에서 공통적으로 특별한 문학적 기교나 수사를 확인하기 어렵다는 것은 마치 ‘無技巧의 技巧’처럼 그가 시의 神韻이 감정의 直敍的 서술을 통해 구현될 수 있다고 여긴 것이 아닌가 생각되기도 한다.
