The books on 『Manyoushuu』 written by Korean researchers played a significant role in introducing Korean readers to the alternative aspects of 『Manyoushuu』. Although this is a great achievement, these books also left severalgaps. There are only few songs that do not overlap between these books. this is believed to have occurred because the books on 『Manyoushuu』 primarily intended to introduce songs that are widely known in the Japanese academic world. It may be argued that that the books on 『Manyoushuu』 written by Korean scholars have the characteristics of introductory books, and thus, they mainly contain songs that are widely known in the Japanese academic world. The main role of these books is to introduce the current status of Japanese academia and the songs of 『Manyoushuu』 that are being discussed in Japanese academia. However, it is worth noting that the song of 『Manyoushuu』, which is considered a part of the canon in Japanese academia, has been popularized in Korea through these books.

한국인 연구자가 저술한 『만엽집』 관련 저서 곧 개설서 5권은 한국 독자에게 『만엽집』의 대체적인 모습을 소개하는 역할을 했다. 이것은 『만엽집』 개설서의 큰 성과다. 하지만 동시에 『만엽집』 개설서는 과제도 남겼다. 이들 개설서 간에는 중 복 노래가 적지 않다는 점이다. 이것은 『만엽집』 개설서가 일본학계에서 널리 알 려진 노래를 주로 소개하고자 했기 때문에 생긴 현상이다. 예컨대 일본에서 출간 된 『만엽집』개설서 가운데 마쓰오카 아야(松岡文)․마쓰시타 유리(まつした ゆう り)․모리 하나에(森花絵)의 『읽고 싶은 만요슈』(삼화, 2016)가 있다. 여기서 소개 된 『만엽집』의 노래 가운데 예를 들어 권1～권3의 노래에는 본고에서 검토한 5권 의 저서에서 중복되는 노래가 다수 보인다. 권1ㆍ8, 권1ㆍ20, 권1ㆍ30, 권1ㆍ38이 그렇다. 또한 권2ㆍ88, 권2ㆍ107, 권2ㆍ108, 권2ㆍ131, 권2ㆍ132, 권2ㆍ133, 권2ㆍ147이 그렇고, 권3ㆍ337, 권3ㆍ341, 권3ㆍ344, 권3ㆍ348, 권3ㆍ349, 권3ㆍ351이 그렇다. 한국인 학자가 집필한 『만엽집』 관련 저서가 개설서의 성격을 띠기에 일본학계 에서 널리 알려진 노래를 주로 담고 있는 것은 자연스런 현상이다. 그리고 일본학 계의 현주소와 일본학계가 주목하는 만엽집의 노래를 소개하고 있다는 점은 이 들 저서의 주요 성과이기도 하다. 하지만 이들 개설서를 통해 일본학계에서 널리 알려진 정전(canon. 正典)의 위치에 있는 『만엽집』의 노래(=중복 노래)가 우리나라 에 이식(移植)됐다는 것도 놓쳐서는 안 된다.
