The purpose of this study is to suggest implications for multicultural social justice counseling in Korea by analyzing international research trends on multicultural social justice counseling, which has been emerging as a core topic in multicultural counseling. For this purpose, this study analyzed 72 papers which has been published in international journals from 2001 to 2021 according to journal, publication year, research topic, research subject, and research method. As a result of the analysis, research on multicultural social justice counseling has increased since the late 2000s, and a total of 18 international journals have published papers on multicultural social justice counseling. In terms of research topics, multicultural education or training, along with curricula research, accounted for 40% of the total research and appeared to be the most studied topic. In the case of research subjects, 42% of the subject were counselors. Methodologically, literature research was the most common method, followed by qualitative research. In conclusion, a large proportion of research was conducted on education, training, or curriculum for counselors through literature research rather than clinical research. Based on these results, this study presented specific implications for multicultural social justice counseling in Korea.

본 연구의 목적은 다문화상담에서 최근 핵심 주제로 부상하고 있는 다문화 사회정의상담에 대한 국제적인 연구동향을 분석함으로 한국 다문화 사회정의 상담에 대한 시사점을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 본 연구는 2001년부터 2021년에 연구된 해외 학술지 72편을 발행기관, 연구년도, 연구주제, 연구대상, 연구방법으로 분류하였다. 분석결과, 2000년대 후반 이후, 다문화 사회정의 상담에 대한 연구가 증가하였으며 총 18개의 학술저널에서 다문화 사회정의 상담에 대한 논문이 게재되었다. 연구 주제면에서볼 때, 다문화 교육이나 훈련, 이에 따른 교과과정 연구가 전체 연구의 40%를 차지하며가장 많이 연구된 주제로 나타났다. 연구 대상의 경우 전체의 42%가 상담자들을 대상으로 하고 있었으며 방법론적으로는 문헌연구가 가장 많았고 질적연구가 그 다음을 차지했다. 결론적으로 다문화 사회정의 상담 연구동향 분석 결과, 임상연구보다는 문헌연구를 통하여 상담을 수행하는 상담자를 대상으로 교육 및 훈련하거나 교과과정을 제시하는 연구가 많은 비중을 차지하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 한국 다문화 사회정의 상담에 대한 구체적인 시사점을 제시하였다.
