The study aims to develop intercultural communication competence for Korean learners in Taiwan by presenting detailed principles of class management model by using folk tales produced in the form of digital multimedia contents. Folk tales are highly valuable education heritage because they not only reflect traditional Korean culture, customs and social structure, but also offer us a chance to understand Korean people’s collective mindset and spiritual values in archetypal forms. However, folk tales have not been widely used in overseas Korean language education sites due to various practical reasons such as issues related to language fluency, ignorance of cultural background, and insufficiency of reliable references and class materials. By utilizing online open digital media contents in which language information and audio-visual information are responding appropriately, this study attempts to propose alternative teaching methodologies of Korean culture and its implications for foreign students. This study proposes a content-based teaching methodology which emphasizes multi-cultural knowledge and adaptability to heterogeneous culture. Specifically, this study will suggest a list of selected thirteen folk tales representing unique cultural phenomena and ideologies in Korea, according to previous studies and the standard culture education plan produced by National Institute of Korean Language. In addition, regarding class activity and management, this paper will suggest a language-culture integrated teaching model which consists of three steps (pre-class, in-class, and after-class) in accordance with contemporary principle of pedagogy, and also will propose teaching plans and student activities. Lastly, as for evaluation, this teaching plan is designed to foster students’ participation and practical skills by encouraging them to create new cultural contents through group projects.

이 연구는 대만에서의 한국어문화 교육 현장에서 다문화적 소통 능력을 배양하기 위한 목적으로 설화 및 전래동화를 활용하는 방안을 제시하고, 구체적인 수업 운영 원리를 소개하는 것에 목적을 둔다. 최근 대만에서의 한국학은 산업, 관광, 쇼핑, 한류, 유학등의 영향으로 급격한 성장세에 있으며, 이에 따라 양국을 중재할 간문화적 소통 능력을 갖춘 초고급 수준의 인재 양성이 중요한 과제로 떠오르고 있다. 이러한 문제의식을갖고, 본 연구에서는 한국어문화 교육에서 설화를 활용하는 방안을 제안하고자 한다. 설화는 한국인의 심성구조와 기층문화를 원형 그대로 축적하고 있으며 전통문화의 현대적 변용 양상을 비교해 볼 수 있다는 점에서 교육적 가치가 높다. 다만 구비전승 문학인 설화는 현대에는 사용되지 않는 옛말 표현이 많아 해외 한국어교육 현장에서 활용하는데 어려움이 많았다. 본 연구에서는 설화의 교육적 가치를 유지하고 있으면서도 해외 학습자들에게 제시하기에 적합하다고 판단되는 디지털 전래동화 콘텐츠의 활용 방안을 제안한다. 우선전통문화를 잘 보여주면서도 현대인들의 가치관과 공동체적 행동 양식에 여전히 영향을 미치고 있는 전래동화 13편을 제시했다. 또한 수업 운영과 관련하여, 본 연구에서는각 수업을 수업 전 예비활동-교실 안 활동-수업 후 활동의 3단계로 분류하고, 이에 적합한 단계별 문화 중심 수업 방안을 제시했다. 마지막으로 평가 방식에 있어, 조별 프로젝트를 통해 학습한 내용을 바탕으로 새로운 문화콘텐츠를 생산할 수 있도록 유도함으로써 학생들이 능동적으로 참여하도록 하고 실무 능력까지 배양할 수 있도록 설계했다. 이 연구에서는 2020년 봄 학기 중국문화대학에서 개설된 <영상한국어>의 수업사례를 소개하고 거기에서 얻게 된 성과와 문제점들을 함께 논의할 것이다. 향후 해외에서 개설될 한국어문화 교육 과정에 참고가 되기를 희망하며 앞으로 유사한 사례들이활발히 공유되길 기대한다.
