I began to produce a series of works based upon the plastic element as a visual transmission -such as points, lines, sides, volumes and cubics, movements with in time, and space- which appeared in the optical art, that emerged in the 1950s and the early 1960. My works, which portray the natural scenes such as mountains, trees, and flowers that are commonly seen around us, are completed by drawing, erasing, filling with many points and overlapping. My works also ignore the scenography. All artistic activities must be based upon humanistic values and ultimately need to work for human being. The work tried to express more diverse impression rather than the emotion from the familiar perspective. We hope, therefore, my works give pleasure and satisfaction to these who come to see them.

나의 작품 전개는 50년대 말과 60년대 초에 걸쳐 전개되기 시작한 옵아트(Optical Art)에서 나타나는 시각전 달로서의 조형요소들-점, 선, 면, 부피와 입체, 시간 속의 운동, 공간-에 대한 것들을 바탕으로 시작했다. 나의 작품 소재는 산, 나무, 꽃 등의 주변적 풍경을 표현하였다. 그리거나 지우거나, 반복된 점으로 채우거나 겹치거나, 원근감을 무시하여 완성했다. 모든 예술 활동은 철저히 인간적가치 위에 바탕을 두어 궁극적으로 인간을 위한 것으로 작용해야 한다. 점에서 시작되어 반복되는 점은 의도한 스케치 또는 전혀 의도하지 않은 또 다른 조형세계로 안내한다. 그것이 의도한 것이든 의도하지 않은 것이든 모든 감상자들에게 풍부하고 다양한 보는 즐거움을 주는데 충분하다고 느낀다. 옵아트 기법을 응용한 작업은 원근감의 무시와 그동안 익숙하고 정직한 보여지는 색채에서 벗어나 다양한 색채를 사 용하였다. 일직선상에서의 대상물 표현에 익숙한 원근법에서 느끼는 감정보다는 더 감동을 주고자 의도하였다. 그러 므로, 우리의 작품이 감상자에게도 기쁨과 만족을 주었으면 좋겠다.
