This paper compared and analyzed translations on professional translators, Google and Naver Papago using the so-called ‘passive sentence patterns’. These tools are responsible for the communication between the writer and readers in Gotaro Isaka’s novel The Foreign Duck, the Native Duck and God in a Coin Locker. Beyond error analysis in individual sentence unit, I further analyze how each error affects the overall flow. The result of the analysis shows that machine translation only translates sentences in individual unit. There is no consideration on context, and large and small errors occurring in individual unit, which destroys the overall context and linguistic aesthetics. Furthermore, it blocks the reader's ability to generate an excellent point of view regarding the literary piece. In order to solve the limitations of machine translation when translating literary works, the humanities’ active participation in analyzing high-dimensional characteristics is necessary. A systematic linguistic study for mechanical translation development is needed to be conducted.

본고는 작가와 독자 간의 커뮤니케이션을 담당하는 일명 ‘수동문 패턴’을 분석대상으로 삼아 전문가의 번역물과 구글, 네이버 파파고의 기계번역물을 비교 분석하였다. 개별문장 단위의 오류 분석을 넘어 각각의 오류가 전체적인 흐름에 어떻게 영향을 끼치는지 특히, 기계번역의 한계점으로 지적되는 독자와의 소통 능력에서 어떤 차이를 보이는지 상세하게 분석하였다. 이를 통해 한일 AI 문학작품 번역의 문제점과 한계점의 단면을 파악하였다. 더불어 기계번역의 한계로 여겨지는 문학작품 번역의 발전에 기여할 인문학계의 역할을 강조하며 언어학적 제언을 하였다.

本稿は、伊坂幸太郎の『アヒルと鴨のコインロッカー』に現れた受身文パターンが専 門翻訳家によって韓国語に翻訳されたものとグーグル、ネイバー・パパゴなどの翻訳機で翻訳されたものを分析対象とする。 作家と読者のコミュニケーションの観点から、読者の視点をマクロ的にコントロー ルする物語の流れ上の重要な部分に注目し、人間の領域として分類される言語美学的 なところを翻訳機はどのように翻訳するのか、その実態を分析して問題点と限界を把 握し、改善の課題を探るための言語学的な提言を行うことを目的としている。 分析結果、翻訳機は文章を個別単位でのみ翻訳し、文脈に対する考慮がなくその個別単位で発生した大小問わずエラーは全体的な文脈と言語美学を破壊し、読者の視点をコントロールする機能を遮断することが分かった。 文学作品を翻訳する際、各文章の正確度や流暢性の他にも機械の文章に感動できないという翻訳機の持つ限界を超えるためには、人文学界の積極的な参加が必要である。その言語学的な研究結果の活用可能性を打診した。
