This study examines basic concepts and definitions based on the academic interpretation of ‘Han(恨)’, and then reads the structure in which the Korean will to sublimate ‘Han’ is reflected in art. In other words, the structural understanding of ‘Han’ is a human philosophical inquiry that unravels various aesthetic principles such as the positive image of Korean art, excitement, and deity. Thus, just as Koreans and Korean sentiments face a close relationship, the consciousness and attitude of life sublimated into art represented the intrinsic tendency of Korean art. It is significant that the sublimation meaning of Han, which has become very common in Korean art, is approached by more structural semantics such as humor and deity, which are the aesthetic keywords of dance.

본 연구는 한(恨)의 학문적인 해석의 기초적인 개념과 정의를 검토한 후, 한을 승화하는 한국적 의지가 예술에 반영되는 구조를 읽어낸다. 곧 한의 구조적 이해는 한 국예술의 긍정의 이미지, 신바람, 신명 등 다양한 미적 원리를 풀어내는 인간 본연의 철학적 탐구이기도 하다. 이에 한국인과 한의 정서가 밀접한 관계에 직면하듯, 예술로 승화해내는 의식과 삶의 태도는 한국예술의 고유적 성향을 대변하고 있었다. 곧 한국 예술에서 보편화된 한의 승화적 의미를 춤의 미학적 키워드인 ‘해학’과 ‘신명’ 등 보다 구조적인 의미론의 접근이라는 데에 연구의 의의를 둔다.
