This study aimed to examine the presentation of ‘music and play’ with Korean music pieces for class use in the 2015 revised elementary music textbooks. The results of the study are as follows. For the activities of play with using music, various music and plays should be presented responding to the development stages of students. As the place of play and living environment are changing according to the change of the educational environment, it is necessary to reinterpret and present how to play according to the times to make it a way of living. It is also desirable to present an illustration to show how to play at a glance. Also, criteria for creating physical expressions and dance movements should be clearly presented under the hypothesis that the two activities are different or the description of terms should be unified so that students can create their own play following the criteria. For the activities of play related to singing styles, filling in the blanks will enable students to be creative. Auxiliary teaching materials should be presented in various ways according to the grade level in consideration of students’ understanding, self-directedness, and spontaneity while differing in the method of presenting the auxiliary materials according to the level of each activity. It is hoped that this study will help students make Korean music a way of life and serve as a reference for developing textbooks according to the next curriculum revision.

본 연구에서는 2015 개정 초등 음악교과서를 대상으로 하여 수록된 국악 제재곡의 음악과 놀이 제시 방식을 고찰하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 음악이 사용된 놀이하기의 활동 제시 방식은 학생들의 발달단계에 맞는 다양한 음악과 놀 이를 제시해야 하고, 교육환경의 변화에 따라 놀이 장소, 생활 환경도 변화하고 있으므로 생 활화할 수 있도록 시대에 맞게 놀이 방법을 재해석하여 제시해야 한다. 또한 놀이 방법을 한눈에 알 수 있는 삽화를 제시해야 한다. 음악을 활용한 놀이하기의 제시 방식은 용어를 통일하여 서술하거나 두 활동이 다르다는 가정 아래 신체표현을 만드는 기준과 춤을 만드는 기준을 명확하게 제시하여 학생들이 그 기준에 맞게 놀이를 스스로 창작할 수 있도록 해야 한다. 또한, 노래의 가창 방식과 관련된 놀이하기 활동 제시 방식은 빈칸을 제시하여 학생들이 창의성을 발휘할 수 있게 하고, 각 활동의 수준에 따라 보조 자료 제시 방식에 차별을 두면서 학생들의 이해도, 자기주도성, 자 발성 등을 고려하여 학년 수준에 맞게 보조 자료를 다양한 방식으로 제시해야 한다. 이 연구를 토대로 초등학생들이 국악을 생활화하는 데 도움이 되고, 차기 교육과정 개정에 따른 교과서 개발 시 참고가 되었으면 한다.
