The purpose of this study is to analytically understand the new performing arts culture in the post-humanist era through the relationship between robots and humans. The 4th Industrial Revolution is the result of combining reality with high technologies such as artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, and big data based on the Internet. The emergence of so-called posthumans, represented by cyborgs, is becoming a model for future humans that exceeds the capabilities of existing humans by combining humans and machines. The evolution of posthumanism is also affecting the fields of performing arts such as theater. Traditionally, it was believed that only humans could stand on the stage, but recently, the possibility of robots entering the performing arts field is increasing. A new artistic trend based on robots is called Robotic Art. The reaction of the audience to the robot appearing on the stage shows a different aspect from the relationship between the audience and the actor in the existing performing arts. In the post-humanist era, the performances created by robot actors and human actors interacting with each other will exist to the audience in a new feeling, emotion, and form different from those of the past. Robot actors, unlike human actors, need engineering help. For a normal performance, art and engineering must be interconnected. In this paper, the following four studies are to be carried out. A study on the unique emotions that occur in between a robot actor and an audience, a study on the difference between a robot actor and a human actor, a study on the human actor and directing facing the robot actor, and a study of the technological environment necessary for the appearance of the robot actor. This paper intends to examine the robot actor in the performing arts in the age of posthumanism through these studies.

본 연구는 로봇과 인간의 관계를 통해 포스트휴머니즘 시대의 새로운 공연예술 문화를 분석적으로 이 해하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 4차 산업혁명은 인터넷을 중심으로 인공지능을 비롯하여 사물인터넷, 빅데 이터 등 최첨단의 테크놀로지와 현실이 결합되어 나타난 것이다. 사이보그로 대표되는 이른바 포스트휴 먼의 등장은 인간과 기계가 결합됨으로서 기존 휴먼의 능력을 초과하는 미래 인간의 모델이 되고 있다. 포스트휴머니즘의 바람은 연극 등의 공연예술 분야에도 영향을 주고 있다. 전통적으로 인간만이 무대 위 에 설 수 있다고 믿었지만, 최근에는 공연예술 분야에서 로봇의 진출 가능성이 높아지고 있다. 로봇을 중 심으로 하는 새로운 예술적 경향을 로보틱 아트(Robotic Art)라고 한다. 무대 위에 등장하는 로봇에 대한 관객의 반응은 기존의 공연예술에서 관객-배우의 관계와는 다른 양상을 보인다. 포스트 휴머니즘 시대에 로봇배우와 인간배우가 서로 상호작용하며 만들어낸 공연은 관객에게 지금까지와는 다른 새로운 느낌, 감동, 형식으로 존재하게 될 것이다. 로봇배우는 인간배우와 달리 공학적인 도움을 필요로 한다. 그러므 로 예술과 공학의 상호 연계가 이루어져야지만 정상적인 공연이 가능하다. 포스트휴머니즘시대에는 인 공지능을 포함한 비인간이 인간과 관계를 맺음으로써 인간배우뿐 아니라 비인간도 인간과 같이 연기 훈 련을 하고, 무대에 서는 것이 가능해 보인다. 인간만의 영역이라고 생각했던 공연예술 무대에서도 비인 간의 활약은 이제 무시할 수 없는 경지에 이르게 되었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 공연예술에 등장한 비인 간 로봇으로 인해 야기되는 네 가지 관점에서의 파생연구를 아래와 같이 수행하고자 하며 로봇배우와 관 객 사이의 거리에서 발생하는 독특한 감정, 로봇배우와 인간배우의 차이점, 로봇배우를 마주하는 인간배 우 및 연출, 그리고 로봇배우의 출현에 필요한 기술적 환경의 연계 등에 대한 연구를 통해 포스트휴머니 즘 시대의 공연예술에서 로봇배우에 대해서 살펴보고자 한다.
