Objectives The purpose of this study is to come up with a way to integrate music and dance among art subjects based on Laban's movement theory, not music educator. Methods This work is based on literature analysis as a qualitative research method. Literature analysis may reveal the physical expression activities presented in high school music textbooks, suggesting keywords for applying Laban's movement elements. Results The positive resultant aspect of this work is that after finding various music concepts in musical pieces and connecting the effort elements, we were able to make the sound 'visible' through a series of processes to extract the basic effort behavior and express it as a movement. Conclusions Through the close connection between the concept of music and the elements of Laban's effort, it has laid the theoretical foundation for promoting physical expression activities in high school music classes. This showed the possibility of being presented as a new module for teaching and learning as an art convergence education.

본 연구는 음악교육가가 아닌 안무가이자 무용 이론가인 라반의 움직임 이론을 토대로 예술 교과 중 음 악과 무용을 융합할 수 있는 방안을 마련하고자 하는 데 목적을 둔다. 나아가 고등학교 음악 수업에서 신 체표현활동을 활성화하는 데 이론적 기반의 발판을 제공하고, 예술융합교육으로서 교수·학습방안 모듈로 제시할 수 있는 가능성을 드러낼 수 있을 것이다. 이에 라반이 제시한 에포트 요소와 동작을 다양한 음악 개념에 연결함으로써 학생들의 음악성과 창의적 사고 역량을 기를 수 있다는 점에 초점을 두고자 하였다. 이에 먼저 역대 음악과 교육과정의 분석을 통해 신체표현이 어떻게 강조되어 왔으며 어떤 음악 개념을 신 체표현에 적용할 수 있는지 살펴보고 둘째, 고등학교 음악 교과서 분석을 통해 신체표현활동 방법과 활동 에 적합한 악곡을 탐색한 후 셋째, 라반의 움직임 이론을 적용한 실제 교수·학습 방안을 모색하였다. 예술 교육의 융합적 사고는 교사의 역량과도 직결되는 문제이다. 학생들은 학교 음악 수업 시간에 음악만 배우 는 것이 아니라, 학습의 과정에서 다양한 방법으로 자신을 표현할 수 있다. 이에 학생들의 무한한 역량을 끌어내는 것이 예술 교사의 역할인 것이다. 때문에 음악과 무용뿐 아니라 미술, 연극, 영화, 문학 등 다른 예술 영역들과도 연계할 수 있는 예술융합교육에 관한 연구가 더욱 활성화될 수 있도록 교사들의 예술적 역량 강화가 함양되어야 할 것이다.
