The central part of the Korean Peninsula is characterized by a mixture of cultures from various regions. This phenomenon is also observed in ancient roof tiles.When roof tiles appeared in Baekje, Goguryeo, China, and Naklang tiles were mixed, creating Baekje's unique Characteristics. On top of this, Goguryeo and Silla roof tile culture were piled up one after the other, creating distinctive culture.This pattern is observed not only in roof tile culture, but also in other fields such as tombs, houses, and earthenware. As a result, Unified Silla and its specialized culture in the central part of the Korean Peninsula are quite different from Gyeongju.

한반도 중부지역은 여러 지역의 문화가 뒤섞여서 새로운 만들어내는 특징을 지니고 있다. 고대의 기와에 서도 이러한 현상이 관찰된다, 백제에서 기와가 등장할 때에는 고구려, 중국, 낙랑 기와가 뒤섞이면서 백제의 고유한 와전문화가 탄생 하였다. 이 위에 고구려와 신라의 와전문화가 차례로 쌓이면서 특색 있는 와전문화가 형성되었다. 이러한 양상은 와전만이 아니라 무덤, 가옥, 토기 등 다른 분야에서도 관찰된다. 그 결과 중부지역 통일신 라기 와전문화는 경주와는 사뭇 다른 양상을 보이게 된다.
