This study is an attempt to check how foreign readers are accepting Korean literary works, which are mainly encountered through translations. It has been more than 20 years since Korean literature translation into foreign languages was activated thanks to the Hallyu wave. Therefore, in this study, the Chinese translation of , a modern Korean literature, was used as an appreciation material. In addition, readers who participated in this study wrote their impressions on Korean contemporary novels in their native language. Researchers translated the readers' impressions in their native language. This study is meaningful in that it paid attention to ‘acceptance of translations of Korean literature’, which has not been actively studied until now. Also, it is meaningful to look at what should be considered when it comes to educationally implemented Korean literature education for foreign readers.

이 연구는 외국인 독자들은 주로 번역서로 만나게 되는 한국문학작품을 어떤 방식으로 수 용하고 있는지를 확인하고자 한 시도이다. 한류에 힘입어 한국문학의 외국어 번역이 활성화된 지 20여년이 지났기 때문에 이 연구에서는 한국현대문학인 <배따라기>의 번역본인 <船歌> 을 감상 자료로 사용하였다. 또한 독자들은 한국현대소설에 대한 자신의 감상문을 모국어로 작성하였고, 이는 연구자들이 번역 및 윤문하였다. 문학적인 측면에서 볼 때 이 연구는 지금까 지 활발하게 연구되지 않았던 ‘한국문학 번역본의 수용’에 주목했다는 의미가 있다. 또한 교육 적으로는 국내 외국인 유학생 증가 추세에 힘입어 향후 외국인 독자를 대상으로 한 한국문학 교육이 설계 및 시행한다고 할 때, 어떤 점을 고려해야 하는지를 살펴본다는 의미가 있다.
