This presentation analyzed the Chines and Korean versions of Minjin Lee's novel Pachinko from the following aspects: the title of the book, the translation of the characters' names, use of dialect or regional language, onomatopoeias, mimetic words, and mistranslation. Usually the readers of Chinese and Korean should get same information from their translated versions, but after comparison, we may easily see that it would be really hard for both sides of the readers to get the same information.

본고는 미국1.5세작가 이민진의 장편역사소설 Pachinko의 중국어 한국어 번역본을 주로 눈에 잘 띄는 특징들을 골라서 소설제목, 등장인물들의 이름, 목 차에 달린 소제, 번역에서 사투리 사용, 번역 용어 선택, 문장구조, 의태어, 오역 등 면에서 비교했다. 비교의 목적은 어떤 번역에 더 좋다는데 결론을 내리는 것 보다 번역 이면에 숨어있는 문화에 더 관심을 가지고 비교했다. 번역을 비교해 보면, 영문독자가 영어로 읽는 것과 중국 독자가 중국어로 읽는 결과 및 한국 독자가 한국어로 읽었을 때 얻는 정보는 똑 똑 같다고 말하긴 힘들지만 그래도 비슷해야한다. 하지마 번역본을 비교해 보면 절대 그렇게 될 수 없는 것 같다.
