The purpose of this study is a narrative study to explore the effects of culture and arts education for the elderly. The researcher is a lecturer who guided the elderly culture and arts education program with the study participants for about 6 months. The data used for this study included class diaries, questionnaires and interview data of study participants, and transcription of interviews of study participants. In order to secure the truth of the data, various verifications were conducted, such as a consultation study with research participants and a review among members. Participants in the study have long been interested in and passionate about culture and arts, and have been able to express their affection for culture and arts education, which they have never experienced before, in various ways. Three educational and emotional meanings were confirmed through culture and arts education through the participants of the study. First, it was possible to form a social network, second, it was possible to recognize positive thoughts in life through stress relief, and third, it was motivated to participate in various culture and arts education.

본 연구의 목적은 노인 문화예술교육의 효과 탐색을 위한 내러티브 연구이다. 연구자는 연구 참 여자들과 약 6개월간 노인문화예술교육 프로그램을 지도한 강사이다. 본 연구를 위해 사용한 자료는 수업일지, 연구 참여자들의 설문지 및 면담 자료, 그리고 연구 참여자들의 인터뷰 전사 를 기록하였다. 자료에 대한 진실성 확보를 위해 연구 참여자들과의 협의 연구, 구성원간의 검 토를 확인하는 등 다방면으로 검증을 하였다. 연구 참여자들은 오래전부터 문화예술의 대한 관 심과 열정이 있었으며, 예전부터 경험하지 못한 문화예술교육에 대한 애정을 다양한 방식으로 표출할 수 있었다. 연구 참여 대상자를 통해 문화예술교육을 통해 3가지의 교육적, 정서적 의미 를 확인하였다. 첫째, 소셜 네트워크의 형성이 가능했고 둘째, 스트레스 해소를 통한 삶의 긍정 적 사고 인식이 가능했으며 셋째, 다양한 문화예술교육 참여에 대한 동기부여가 되었다.
