We’re going to take a deeper look into the life of Bak Jaehyeok and the meaning behind the success of the detonation and penetration into Busan Police Station on September 14th, 1920. This incident is especially notable because it was Euiyeoldan’s very first successful case of patriotic struggle. Also, this very act of penetrating into Busan Police Station should be respected for its display of braveness. Not only was Bak Jaehyeok successful in penetrating into the station, but he also managed to punish the superintendent Hashimoto in the means to motivate the local people. Bak Jaehyeok’s penetration into Busan Police Station was truly the starting point of the following Major Patriotic Struggle (의열투쟁) of 1920.

박재혁의 생애와 1920년 9월 14일 부산경찰서 진입 투탄의거의 성과와 의의를 살펴보고자 한다. 박재혁의 부산경찰서 진입 투탄의거는 의열단이 최초로 성공한 의열투쟁이라는 점에서 의미가 크다고 하겠다. 또한 부산경찰서에 진입하여 의거를 결행한 대담성은 가히 놀랄만하다. 박재혁은 대담하게 부산경찰서에 진입하여 부산경찰서 청사를 파손하는 것은 물론 하시모토 경찰서장을 처단하여 지방 민심을 동요시킬 목적으로 의거를 결행하였다. 박재혁의 부산경찰서 진입 투탄의거는 본격적으로 이어지는 1920년대 의열투쟁의 신호탄이었다.
