This research aims to explore whether the competence of project managers will affect project performance in the construction industry and consulting industry, which have different characteristics and types in the era of convergence. The fourth industrial revolution is triggering innovative changes through the integration of various fields, and the importance of project managers' effective response capabilities is emerging. Therefore, this study identifies the competency factors that have the greatest impact on project performance in the project manager’s competence, and further examines whether there is a difference in the impact of project manager’s competence. According to the results of this study, if a highly qualified project manager is invested in a project that combines construction and consulting, it is expected that the probability of project success will increase.
