This study analyzed the current situation of research using 61 government R&D projects related to art therapy from 2002 to 2020 provided by NTIS as data. The analysis of art therapy R&D projects was conducted in four stages: first, the annual art therapy government-contributed research status, second, yearly government-invested in art therapy research expenses, third, analysis of institutions performing art therapy R&D by department, fourth, analysis of the current status of art therapy R&D projects by research type and results were as follows. First, the national annual R&D project for art therapy began in 2005 and had been continuously growing since 2012. Second, the annual government-invested research budget continues to increase from 2005 to 2020 due to the growing trend of the art therapy national R&D projects. Third, in the analysis by department, the Ministry of Education has consistently supported research, and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups has recently been increasing support in research. Fourth, the analysis of the current status of research type shows that sectors in humanities consistently account for a large proportion of research in the classification of R&D characteristics. In terms of research status by classification of R&D characteristics according to change of government, sectors in humanities were the most common until 2012, and convergence studies emerged since 2013. Examining the current status of national R&D projects in art therapy, the government seems to be promoting art therapy through various laws and business policies. In addition, considering the development of the fourth industrial revolution technology in line with the investment direction of the country, the convergence research on art therapy is expected to increase, and the budget allocated is also expected to increase. In response, art therapy needs to discuss the direction of art therapy research, such as promoting convergence research or designating protective research. This study is meaningful as it made a new attempt to analyze the current situation through R&D open data in the field of art therapy.

본 연구는 NTIS에서 제공한 2002년부터 2020년까지 미술치료 관련 정부 R&D 사업 61개를 데이터로 활용 하여 연구현황을 분석하였다. 미술치료 R&D 사업 분석은 첫째, 연도별 미술치료 연구 출연 현황, 둘째, 연도별 미술치료 정부투자 연구비 추이, 셋째, 부처별 미술치료 R&D 수행 기관 분석, 넷째, 미술치료 R&D 사업의 연구유형별 현황 분석 순서로 진행하였으며 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연도별 미술치료 국가 R&D 사업 연구 출연은 2005년부터 국가 R&D 사업이 시작되었고 2012년 이후 지속적으로 성장하고 있다. 둘째, 연도별 정부투자 연구비는 미술치료 국가 R&D 사업 연구 출연의 성장 추세를 따라 2005년에 비해 2020년까지 지속적으로 증가하고 있다. 셋째, 부처별 분석에서는 교육부가 꾸준히 연구를 지원하였고, 최근 중소벤처기업부의 연구 지원이 증가하고 있다. 넷째, 연구유형별 현황 분석에서는 연구개발 성격 구분에서 인문사회 분야가 가장 많은 연구 비중을 차지하고 있으며, 정권의 변화에 따른 연구개발 성격 구분별 연구현 황에서는 2012년까지는 인문사회 분야가 가장 많았고, 2013년부터는 융합연구가 출현되고 있다. 미술치료 국가 R&D 사업 현황을 살펴본 결과 정부는 다양한 법령과 사업 정책을 통해 미술치료 육성을 추진하고 있는 것으로 보인다. 또한, 국가의 투자방향에 발맞춰 4차 산업혁명 기술 발전을 고려하여 미술치료 관련 융합연구가 더 늘어날 것으로 예상되며 배정되는 예산 또한 늘어날 것으로 예측된다. 이에 미술치료는 미술 치료 연구의 추진 방향에 대해 융합연구 추진이나 보호 연구 지정과 같은 논의가 필요하다. 본 연구는 미술 치료 분야에서 R&D 공개 데이터를 통한 현황 분석이라는 새로운 시도를 하였다는 점에서 본 연구의 의의가 있다.
