This study aims to analyze how political and diplomatic conflicts between Korea and Japan are affecting Korea's trade and investment. Japan's measures to regulate semiconductor exports in July 2019 and Korea's exclusion in the whitelist country in August 2019. These Japanese export restrictions are affecting Korea's trade and investment. Therefore, a comprehensive approach is needed on political issues between the two countries and the impact of diplomatic friction on economic indicators. Therefore, this study analyzed the recent trend of Korea-Japan relations in terms of political perspectives and diplomatic conflict issues. The analysis results of this study are as follows. First, due to its impact on the Korean economy, Japan's exports to such items were observed during the conflict over the issue of forced labor. Second, big changes were observed in stocks, investment funds and mid- to long-term bonds compared to the United States and China. Accordingly, it was analyzed that capital movements are starting in earnest. Third, the decline in exports to Korea was noticeable in semiconductor materials. In conclusion, future studies should carefully grasp the side effects and vigilance of political friction when it intensifies into economic effects.

본 연구는 한국과 일본의 정치･외교적 갈등이 한국의 무역과 투자에 어떠한 영향을 미치고 있는지를 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 2019년 7월 일본의 반도 체 수출규제 조치 및 2019년 8월 한국을 화이트리스트 국가에서 배제 조치가 시 행되었다. 이러한 일본의 수출 규제 조치가 한국의 무역과 투자에 영향을 미치고 있다. 이에 양국 간 정치적 쟁점과 외교 마찰이 경제적 지표에 어떠한 영향을 미 쳤는지에 대해 종합적 접근이 필요하다. 이를 위하여 본 연구는 정치학 관점에서 최근 한일 양국관계의 흐름을 분석함과 동시에 정치 및 외교적 갈등의 쟁점 측면 에서 고찰하였다. 본 연구의 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫 번째, 강제징용피해 문제 갈등 시기에 이들 품목에 대해 일본의 수출 감소가 관찰되어 한국 경제에 미치는 영향이 나타 나고 있다. 두 번째, 주식과 투자 펀드, 중장기 채권에서 미국과 중국에 비교하여 변화가 크게 나타나 자본이동이 본격적으로 시작되고 있다는 것을 분석하였다. 세 번째, 반도체 소재 등에서 한국으로의 수출 감소가 두드러졌다. 정치적 마찰이 경제적 영향으로 심화 될 경우의 부작용과 경계심을 향후 연구에서보다 면밀하게 파악해야 할 것이다.
