The purpose of this article is to organize the 『Gagokdaejeon』 the first edition of the Maema Kyosaku’s 『Kyoju-Gagokjip』 in the early 20th century, and to translate and introduce the preface. The 『Gagokdaejeon』 is a new material that has not been known to the academic world. Until now, two types of copies of the 『Kyoju-Gagokjip』 were known as Seoul National University and Ewha Womans University, but I found another version that 『Gagokdaejeon』 in the Dongyang-mungo(東洋文庫). This is a great help in understanding the process of compilation, as the preface of Maema, which is not in other versions, is contained in the first draft of the collection. In response, this article intends to expand the understanding by introducing 『Gagokdaejeon』 and examining its preface. Through this review, a new perspective the transmission of Gosijo in the first half of the 20th century will be secured.

이 글은 20세기 초 마에마 쿄사쿠(前間恭作, 1867〜1942) 편 『校註歌曲集』의 초고본인 『歌曲大全』을 해제하고 그 서문을 번역 소개하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 『가곡대전』은 현재까지 학계에 알려지지 않은 신자료다. 그간 『교주가곡집』의 이본 으로는 서울대본과 이화여대본 2종이 알려져 있었지만 필자는 일본 동양문고에 소 장된 또 다른 이본인 『가곡대전』을 발견할 수 있었다. 특히 『가곡대전』에는 다른 이본에 없는 마에마의 서문이 수록되어 있어 『교주가곡집』의 편찬 과정을 이해하 는 데 큰 도움이 된다. 이에 본고는 『가곡대전』의 전체 체계를 소개하고 그 서문을 살핌으로써 『교주가곡집』 이해의 편폭을 확장해보고자 한다. 이 검토를 통해 20세 기 전반기 고시조 전승에 대한 새로운 시각을 확보할 수 있을 것이라 기대한다.
