This paper studies the Early Mandarin loanwords in Hunmong Jahoe (訓蒙字會, 1527). Hunmong Jahoe is a Chinese character Textbook written during the Joseon Dynasty. Each Chinese character is introduced together with its pronunciation (音) and meaning (訓) written in the Korean alphabet Hunmin Jeongeum (訓民正音). The meaning part was analysed one by one using four criteria that were mainly based on phonological clues. The result showed that there are 47 words that can be categorised as Early Mandarin loanwords. 8 loanwords that were not mentioned in previous studies have been newly added to the list and each of them was proven by an etymological explanation. However, there are 8 words that were mentioned as Early Mandarin loanwords in other research, but are excluded from our list of loanwords due to lack of phonological evidence.

이 논문은 『訓蒙字會』에 수록된 近代漢音系 차용어에 대한 전반적인 분석을 진행하는 데에 목적을 두고 있다. 이번 연구에서는 필자가 蕭悅寧(2014)에서 세운 近代漢音系 차용어의 네 가지 판별 기준을 약간 보완한 후, 󰡔訓蒙字會󰡕에 수록된 한자의 訓을 모두 분석하였다. 그 결과 47개의 近代漢音系 차용어를 확인할 수 있었다. 이 중 기존 연구에서 이미 언급된 것을 제외하고, 선행 연구에서 近代漢音系 차용어로 제시되지 않았던 “단디”, “다ᇰ쉬”, “미시”, “바조”, “셰툐”, “ᄉᆡᇰ야ᇰ”, “ᄎᆞ긔”와 “회화” 등 8개 단어에 대해 음운론적으로 그 語源을 입증하려고 노력하였다. 한편 기존 연구에서 近代漢音系 차용어로 간주되었지만 본고에서는 제외된 단어도 8개가 있는데, “툐ᄋᆞ”, “즈우샤”, “ᄃᆡ모”, “고리”, “지지”, “듀셕”, “둑”, “나평”이 그것이다. 차용어 목록에서 이 단어들을 삭제해야 할 이유에 대해서도 음운론적 증거를 제시하면서 설명하였다.
