The Hwaseong Dangseong is posed near the West Sea of Korean peninsular, and the Shandong peninsular is located across the sea. Due to this location, the Hwaseong Dangseong is not only a strategic point for Silla’s unification, but also has geopolitical importance that is located on the path of Chinese culture to the Korean Peninsula. The roof tile with ‘Tang(唐)’ character excavated from seven time’s surveys of Dangseong demonstrated its connection with Dangseong and the Tang Dynasty of China, and the discovery of Chinese relics such as Xingyao(邢窯) porcelain provided clues to the specipicfic relationship between Dangseong and Tang Dynasty. This paper judged the date of the Xingyao pocelain to be 9th century by comparing it with China and Korea data. And according to the analysis of the West Sea route , the characteristics and the usage time of a foreign ports, it presumed that the Xingyao porcelain to Dangseong from Shandong by the central cross route. It was also estmated that the Changshayao(長沙窯) porcelain and Yuezhouyao(越州窯) porcelain excavated in Korea were came to the southwestern part of the Korean Peninsula through the southern cross route of the western sea.

경기도 화성시에 위치한 당성은 서해안에 접해 있으며, 그 너머로는 중국 산동반도가 위치해 있다. 화성 당성은 신라의 통일을 위한 전략적 거점성은 물론 중국 문물이 한반도로 전해오는 길목에 위치하고 있는 지정학적인 중요성을 가지고 있다. 화성 당성에 대한 7차례의 발굴조사 결과 ‘당(唐)’자명 기와가 출토되어 당성과 중국 당나라와의 관련성이 입증되었고, 형요 백자완과 같은 중국계 유물이 출토됨으로써 당성과 당나라와의 구체적인 교류 관계를 밝힐 수 있는 실마리를 제공하였다. 이에 본고에서는 먼저 당성 출토 형요 백자완의 시간성을 중국 및 국내 출토 자료와 비교함으로써 9세기대로 보았다. 구체적인 유입경로를 밝히기 위해 서해 해상 항로와 중국의 대외 항구의 성격, 사용 시기 등을 분석한 결과, 형요 백자완의 유입은 중국 산동과 당성을 연결하는 중부 횡단항로를 이용했을 것으로 해석하였다. 또한 동시기 국내에서 출토되는 장사요 자기나 월주요 청자는 남부 사단항로가 아닌 남부 횡단항로를 통해 한반도 서남부지역으로 유입되었을 것으로 추정하였다.
