The purpose of this study is to explore the recovery factors for narcotic addict. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, recovery cases published by the headquarters of the 'Korean Association Against Drug Abuse' were collected and analyzed. Out of the total 65 cases, 25 cases with specific addiction and recovery experiences were used for the analysis. The collected data were analyzed by a qualitative case study method. As a result, awareness of drug risk, awareness of health status, and life goals were acting as internal recovery factors. External recovery factors were support from family and friends, distance from drug environment, recovery community, fellow recoverers, stigma, religion, and rehabilitation facilities. Based on the research results, information on the dangers of narcotics, health status check for addicts, support for setting specific life goals, support for distance from narcotics environment, guidance to recovery communities, and utilizing support of fellow recoverers were suggested as practical alternatives.

이 연구의 목적은 마약류 중독자의 회복요인을 탐색하는 데 있다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 한국마약퇴 치운동본부에서 발간한 회복사례 수기집을 통해 회복사례들을 확보하여 분석했다. 전체 사례 65개 중 구체적인 중독과 회복 경험이 드러난 사례 25개를 분석에 활용하였다. 수집된 자료는 질적 사례연구방법으로 분석했다. 분석결과, 내적 회복요인으로 약물의 위험성 자각, 건강상태 자각, 삶의 목표가 작용하고 있었다. 외적 회복요인 으로는 가족 및 친구의 지지, 약물 환경과 거리두기, 회복공동체, 동료회복자, 낙인, 종교, 재활시설이 작용하고 있었다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 마약류의 위험성에 대한 정보제공 및 중독자 건강상태 점검, 구체적인 삶의 목표 설정 지원, 마약류 환경에 대한 거리두기 지원, 회복공동체 안내, 동료 회복자 활용을 실천적 대안으로 제시했다.
