China expects the advanced medical and healthcare services industry to grow further due to urbanization, population aging, and advanced living patterns, etc. In particular, the increase of the wealthy class and foreigners will lead to increased demand for foreign-funded hospitals. Grail Insights(智研咨询) emphasized that China’s healthcare market is in high demand for high-end medical services and that investment in related medical institutions has been increasing significantly. The reason is that while consumers have higher expectations for medical quality, local medical institutions in China are not responding appropriately to market demands. Meanwhile, in October 2016, the State Council of China announced the encouraging policy for the elderly caring and customized medical services industry in the Health China 2030(“健康中国 2030”规划纲要). In this regard, this study intends to suggest policy implications for South Korean medical institutions’ investment into China through the analysis of the success factors of ‘UFH(和睦家)’, a representative success case of a foreign-funded medical hospital in China. Medical institutions of considering advancement in South Korea into China through the success factors of the UFH(和睦家) Hospital need to focus on the following aspects: first, the recognition that the trust of local patients is very important; second, the introduction of a medical system with an international management system; third, the rapid adaptation to changes in the healthcare market environment in China; fourth, the importance to provide customized high-quality medical services; fifth, the distinguishing healthcare strategies along with the rapid introduction of the latest medical technology; sixth, the establishment of continuous CS(customer satisfaction) service education system to hospital workers, etc.

중국은 도시화의 진행, 인구 고령화, 선진국형 생활패턴의 정착 등으로 인해 고급 의료 및 건강관리 서비스산업이 더욱 성장할 것으로 예상한다. 특히 부유 층과 외국인의 증가는 외자병원에 대한 수요 증가로 이어질 것이다. 중국 즈옌 컨설팅(智研咨询)은 중국 의료시장이 고급의료서비스에 대한 높은 수요와 함께 관련 의료기관들의 투자규모 상승이 뚜렷한 추세라고 강조하였다. 그 이유는 중국 의료기관들은 시장수요에 적절히 대응하지 못하는 상태이나 소비자들의 의료품질에 대한 기대는 점점 높아지고 있기 때문이다. 한편, 중국 국무원은 2016년 10월 <건강중국2030규획강요(“健康中国2030”规划纲要)>를 통해 고령 인구에 대한 배려와 맞춤형 의료서비스를 제공하는 산업에 대한 장려정책을 발 표하였다. 이에 본 연구는 중국내 외자의료기관의 대표적 성공 사례인 ‘허무지 아(和睦家)병원’의 성공 요인 분석을 통해 한국 의료기관의 중국진출을 위한 정책적 시사점을 제시하고자 한다. 허무지아병원의 성공 요인을 통해 한국의 중국진출을 고려하는 의료기관들은 다음과 같은 측면을 중점적으로 대비할 필 요가 있다. 첫째, 현지 환자들의 신뢰도가 매우 중요함을 인식해야 한다. 둘째, 국제적 관리시스템을 갖춘 의료체계의 도입이다. 셋째, 시장환경변화에의 빠른 적응이다. 넷째, 맞춤형 고품질 의료서비스의 제공이 중요하다. 다섯째, 최신 의료기술의 신속한 도입과 함께 차별화된 진료전략이 필요하다. 여섯째, 병원내 종사자들에 대한 지속적인 CS(customer satisfaction) 서비스교육 체계의 도입이다
