The purpose of this research was to verify the mediating effect of leader confidence in the influence of the sports leader's authentic leadership on the athlete's disempowering motivation climate. The subjects of this study were 336 male and female athletes, and the survey was conducted using the sports authentic leadership scale, the leader confidence scale, and the disempowering motivational climate scale. Among them, the final 249 responses excluding poor responses were used as analysis data. Statistical analysis was conducted by using SPSS and AMOS programs to verify the validity and reliability of the scale. For the verification of the research model, the correlation analysis and the path analysis were performed to find out the relationship between variables, and to confirm the suitability and mediating effect of the structural model. The results of the study were as follows. First, there was a significant positive correlation between the sub-factors of sports authentic leadership, leader trust, and motivational climate for disempowering. Second, the direct effects of sports authentic leadership, leader trust, and leader trust and disempowering motivation climate were all significant. Third, as a result of verifying the mediating effect of leader trust in the relationship between sports authentic leadership and disempowering motivational climate, both direct and indirect effects were significant and the conformity of the structural model was found to be satisfactory.

본 연구는 스포츠 지도자의 진성리더십이 운동선수들의 역량강화 동기분위기에 미치는 영향에서 지도자 신뢰의 매개효과를 검증하기 위한 것이었다. 연구 대상자는 남, 여 운동선수 336명이었으며, 조사도구는 스포츠 진성리더십 척 도, 지도자 신뢰척도 및 역량강화 동기분위기 척도를 활용하여 설문을 실시하였다. 이 중에서 부실한 응답을 제외한 최종 249명의 응답내용을 분석 자료로 활용하였다. 통계분석은 SPSS와 AMOS 프로그램을 활용하여 척도의 타당도와 신뢰도 검증을 실시하였다. 연구모형 검증은 상관분석, 경로분석을 실시하여 변인들 간의 관계를 알아보고 구조모형의 적합성과 매개효과를 확인하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 스포츠 진성리더십, 지도자 신뢰 및 역량강화 동기분위기의 하위 요인들 간에는 유의한 정적 상관을 보였다. 둘째, 스포츠 진성리더십과 지도자 신뢰 그리고 지도자 신뢰와 역량강화 동기 분위기의 직접효과는 모두 유의하였다. 셋째, 스포츠 진성리더십과 역량강화 동기분위기의 관계에서 지도자 신뢰의 매개 효과를 검증한 결과 직접, 간접효과 모두 유의하였으며 구조모형의 적합성이 양호한 것으로 나타났다.
