This study stemmed from the concerns that, despite the high interest and rich discussions regarding arts education, the training courses and support systems for training and cultivating arts education professionals in the field are relatively poor in numbers and qualities. The study particularly takes notes of the current status and problems of professional training and development programs for Korean ‘arts instructors’ system, which are representatively derived from the governmental policy drive of Culture and Arts Education. It discusses the necessity of various training plans and support systems for cultivating professionalism and virtues that these arts education professionals should possess. As one of the measures, the contents and characteristics of Washington State TAT-Lab's training program in Korea were analyzed, and the applicability of training and capacity building of Korean arts education professionals was examined. Also, the meaning and implications of the attempts of this experimental training plan were presented through the analysis of the process and results of the case study of Korean arts instructors dispatched overseas and follow-up research meetings in connection with TAT-Lab. The main implications of the case are: improvement of motivation and spontaneity of participants; deepening and embodied understanding through repeated learning; reinforcement of cooperative community among peers; expansion of participant's vision and perspective; and the importance of the role of expert in project planning and implementing. It is hoped that this study will contribute to the establishment of a reflective community that supports the continuous cultivation and growth of more independent arts education professionals in Korea.

본 연구는 다양한 예술교육에 대한 높은 관심 및 논의들에 비해 현장에서 이를 수행하는 예술교육 전문 인력을 훈련하고 양성하는 연수과정 및 지원체계는 상대적으로 빈약하다는 문제의식에서 출발하였다. 그 중 대표적으로 한국의 문화예술교육 정책에서 파생된 예술강사 및 문화예술교육사 제도의 전문 인력 양성 현황과 문제점에 주목하여, 이러한 예술교육 전문 인력이 기본적으로 갖추어야 할 전문성과 덕목 함양을 위한 다양한 연수 방안 및 지원체계의 필요성을 논의하였다. 그 방안의 하나로, 미국 워싱턴 주 TAT-Lab의 연수 프로그램의 특성 및 국내 방문 연수의 내용을 분석하고 우리나라 예술교육 전문 인력 의 훈련 및 역량강화의 적용 가능성을 점검하였다. 이어서 TAT-Lab과 연계한 국내 예술강사 해외 파견 연수 및 후속 연구모임 사례의 과정 및 성과 분석을 통해 이러한 전향적인 연수 방안의 시도가 남긴 의미 와 시사점을 제시하였다. 사례의 주요 시사점으로는: 첫째, 참여자의 동기부여 및 자발성의 향상; 둘째, 반복된 학습을 통한 이해의 심화 및 체화; 셋째, 동료들 간의 협력 커뮤니티 강화; 넷째, 참여자 관점과 시야의 확장; 마지막으로, 사업 기획 및 추진과정에서의 전문가 활용의 중요성 등이 발견되었다. 본 연구 가 보다 주체적인 예술교육 전문 인력의 지속적인 양성과 성장을 지원하는 성찰적 커뮤니티 구축에 미 약하나마 기여하기를 바라는 바이다.
