This study examined the effect of smartphone dependency on cyber delinquency of adolescents and the moderating effects of psychological and relational factors. Using data from 2nd wave of ‘Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey 2018’, 2,404 middle school students(2nd graders) were analyzed. The results of this study were as follows. First, both depression and self-esteem as psychological factors moderated the relation between smartphone dependency and cyber delinquency only of boys. Second, only peer relationship as relational factors moderated the relation between smartphone dependency and cyber delinquency of adolescents. Third, teacher relationship didn’t moderate the relation between smartphone dependency and cyber delinquency of adolescents. This results indicated that peer relationship is important for adolescents and psychological factors could reduce cyber delinquency especially for boys. This suggested that it is necessary to consider gender to reduce cyber delinquency for adolescents.

본 연구는 청소년의 스마트폰 의존도가 사이버 비행에 미치는 영향과 이러한 관계에서 개 인의 심리적 요인과 관계적 요인의 조절효과를 살펴보았다. 개인의 심리적 요인으로는 우울 과 자아존중감을, 관계적 요인으로는 친구관계와 교사관계를 살펴보았으며, 남자 청소년과 여자 청소년을 각각 분석하였다. 이를 위해 한국청소년정책연구원에서 실시한 ‘한국아동·청 소년패널 2018’ 중1 패널의 2차년도 자료를 활용하였으며, 분석대상은 남자 청소년 1,303명, 여자 청소년 1,101명이었다. 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 개인 심리적 요인의 경우, 남 자 청소년의 경우에만 우울과 자아존중감이 스마트폰 의존도가 사이버 비행에 미치는 영향을 조절하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 관계적 요인의 경우, 남자 청소년과 여자 청소년 모두 친구 관계가 스마트폰 의존도가 사이버 비행에 미치는 영향을 조절하는 것으로 나타난 반면, 교사 관계는 남녀 청소년 모두 조절효과가 유의하지 않았다. 본 연구는 남자 청소년의 경우 우울과 자아존중감 같은 개인의 심리적인 요인이 안정적이지 않으면 사이버 비행에 더욱 취약하며, 남자 청소년과 여자 청소년 모두 친구관계가 중요한 요인임을 밝혔다. 이러한 결과를 통해 청 소년의 사이버 비행 감소를 위하여 친구관계를 향상시키는 것이 도움이 되며, 성별에 따라 다 른 접근도 필요하여 남자 청소년의 경우 개인 내적인 심리나 정서 상태 등을 파악하여 역량을 키워주어야 함을 시사하였다.
