This paper aims to lay the groundwork for interpreting AR art based on a complex relationship between the virtual, real and actual. Augmented reality media is most characterized by virtual images overlaid in real space, which is the basis for the operation of augmented reality by returning a bodily sense recognized as disembodied in the VR technology environment. Thus, AR art treats these points as a type of 'embodiment' and believes that the bodily sensibility implicated in the technology reaches the point where the image of the body is diversified, multilayered, and, furthermore, internalized. This view is based on this point that the body’s potential is revealed during the process of relocating the virtual and real concepts discussed in VR, eventually becoming interfaces, and further identifying the relationships between the body, media, and the world, creating a new reality in which the three groups are mixed. Therefore, we believe that it is necessary to facilitate phenomenological access at the body experiencing AR art as a code of "embodiment" and to approach this based on Maurice Merleau-Ponty's concept of body schema and tactile images.

본 논문에서는 가상과 실재, 그리고 현실의 복합적인 관계를 기반으로 하는 증강현실 매체 기반 미디어아트를 해석할 수 있는 토대를 마련하고자 한다. 증강현실 매체는 가상의 이미지가 실재 공간에 병치(overlay) 되는 것이 가장 큰 특징인데, 이러한 기제는 이전의 VR 기술환경에서 탈신체화된 것으로 인식되었던 신체적 감각이 복귀되어 증강현실의 작동 기반이 된다. 따라 서 증강현실 기반 미디어아트에서는 이러한 지점을 ‘신체화’된 현상으로 다루어, 기술이 내재되어 있는 신체적 감각이 다변화, 다층화되고, 나아가 기술로 투영되는 신체의 이미지가 내화되는 지점에 이른다고 본다. 이러한 시각은 VR에서 논의되었던 가 상과 실재의 개념이 재배치되는 과정에서 신체적 잠재성이 드러나고, 결국 신체가 인터페이스가 된다는 관점을 기반으로 하 며, 나아가 신체와 매체, 그리고 세계가 맺는 관계를 확인하면서 세 집단이 혼재된 새로운 현실을 만들 수 있을 것으로 본다. 따라서 증강현실 매체 기반 미디어아트를 경험하는 신체를 ‘신체화’라는 코드로서 현상학적으로 살펴보는 것이 필요한 방법 이라고 보고, 메를로 퐁티의 신체 도식과 촉각적 이미지의 개념을 기반으로 접근하고자 한다.
