The purpose of this study is largely twofold. First, it looks at the results of research on the relationship between singing and COVID-19, and based on them, prepares safety guidelines for the choir. Second, it is seeking ways to operate a choir in the era of COVID-19. In Chapter 2, I reviewed the results of recent COVID-19 studies by category: aerosol, mask, ventilation, and distance. And I explained why singing together is dangerous and how the risk of infection can be reduced. In Chapter 3, I provided guidelines for safer practice by category, based on the results of the study in Chapter 2 and data from foreign denominations and organizations: distance, mask, ventilation, hygiene, place and time of practice. Most of them can be applied in common even if the situation is different for each church. Following these guidelines will not completely eliminate the risk of COVID-19 infection, but it could reduce it. In Chapter 4, I explained how to run a choir in a state where choir practice meetings were banned due to COVID-19, divided into several topics: time and method of practice, adjustment of the number of choir members, selection of songs, and when the choir cannot meet for a long time. And in the last chapter, I emphasized that we should come up with a response plan as soon as possible, instead of waiting without measures only when the coronavirus outbreak ends.
